材 contains 才 which is in plenty of words like 天才 and 才能 which should help you remember the reading
朴 contains 卜 which is in much less words, but you can just remember it as "the one that's not 才" here and learn the ぼく reading for it along with some other word like 朴訥

I don't think nonnative speakers generally fuck up English stress that much tho they usually just have strong accents, stress is way more obvious to the listener than pitch accent so generally when you learn a word you get it corrrct
