KC does caution that until its in a book its not 100% canon, that said he has made canon that the Wandering Scholar isn't always accurate. He indicates this both in the MGE volumes (where the scholar makes it clear that many of the profiles are done by interviewing one monster couple over a short period of time), and in the World Guides (where for instance Saphirette mentions some beliefs in line with his and says they are misunderstandings or exaggerations).
