Full gacha to get a high score.
Mix gacha and freebies to get a fairly decent score.
Free gear to at least beat them with low score to reach the weekly 30k.

While gear and character rank matters it's also very important to know how to beat each boss. If you blindly throw characters at them you won't get anywhere. Lots of bosses that seem threatening can be cheesed with the right strategy.

Given Cygames, it's hard not to be at least profitable enough to not fail. Look at PriConne; the original game flopped, then went silent for 2+ years with only some dorky radio show where the seiyuu pretend to like each other to advertise it and it came in, what, 3rd place for that Play Store election? Even PriConne got delays too.

Now, I won't say Horse Pussy will fall into the same "too big to fail" category, but even though the anime's hype may have mostly faded, there's still tons of people to hop back on the wagon. And plus they have their whole thinly-veiled idolshit stuff with all their lives and songs and literal horse pussy and stuff.
It's true that the "shit game but cute waifu simulator" market is overly saturated but I believe there's enough name attribution alone to keep it afloat. Hell, I'm sure all Cygames has to do is label it as "made by the people who made Grubble" and people would still flock to it.

Compass has updated and the Konosuba collab has started. Megumin and Aqua are the new heroes, along with costumes for Jeanne, Kirara, 13, Matoi and Violetta. Roll the gacha 50 times to get an event ticket, roll the event hero gacha for a chance to get the characters/costumes. Megumin and Aqua are a 25% chance each, and the costumes are a 10% chance. The collab will run until the 13th

There will be a 7 day login campaign as part of the collab - the first day will reward you with 2525BM, the third day will give you a special event ticket that can be used in the guaranteed Aqua hero gacha and the 7th day gives you an Aqua player icon. This will be available until the 13th.

On to free URs, there are two guaranteed UR single pull gachas available until the 9th. The first one is a guaranteed fire element UR, the second is an earth element UR. These can only be used once but are great regardless.
The special UR ticket feature has also been implemented - for every 90 days you login, you will receive 10 of these tickets on the 90th day. These can be redeemed for specific UR cards in the gacha screen - each day there will be 3 different ones available, so it's just a matter of waiting for what you want. This is great for getting that 100% shield or limit breaking other URs. 10 have been given for free as part of the 2nd anniversary. If you've maxed out an UR card to +4, you can swap any future duplicates for one of these UR tickets. There is also some sort of referral/comeback campaign that gives a bunch of the original UR tickets.

There have been some hero/card adjustments:

Original Tina was actually my first thought for a next choice, though I don't know how she'd fare now either. Tried her for some stuff CC'd and she did pretty well, but that was a while back now.

Not that the tri-element thing is that essential, since you can always bring extra characters just for the other switches. Or go the long way around, I didn't notice the shortcut on my first runs.

Uzuki's 5* is pretty good. Has good range, fairly strong and can heal your team a bit. I've been using it a lot to clear filler floors in the tower quickly.

For her you want to do Backstep > まだまだ頑張れます！ x2 (her event weapon, if you don't have it then one of the 3* Shot type) > hidden 5*. Event weapon is preferred since it has better stats and drop bonus during events but in case you don't have it the 3* ones work too. Their job is just to get to chain 4 to use the hidden version of her 5* as fast as possible.

Ranko works the same way but her best filler is a 3*. It would be Backstep > 集え闇の因子 x2 > hidden 5*. That 3* has a very fast animation and she uses it on herself. There are other alternatives but none are that good.

I doubt you'll be able to clear 50F but if you have the time you might want to see how far you can climb the tower. You get a reward the first time you clear the boss floors (every 10 floors, 250 diamonds total) and these rewards reset with each new tower each month. Doesn't cost AP so you'll only be losing a bit of time if you fail.

You actually want to ignore the tree mobs and focus on the middle at first, until you get the gates open. The metal skellies in the back do a little damage, but the biggest threat to the tree is the next waves back there that spawn after they're dead.

The only 17* runs I failed were when someone picked those off before the gate was open, and the rest of the team couldn't ranged attack the other waves from behind the gates fast enough or get the gates open in time.

Those missile dogs can hit it too, yeah. But in my experience those usually died in normal clearing of those rooms to open the gates, they only became an issue if the tree was already low on health from spawning the tree waves early.

Not him but top100 crews usually organize themselves so they can actually get to top100. To even get in you need to be able to meet a quota of points every GW which makes sense because you need everyone to pull their weight.

They also organize their attacks like say when you're attacking something so people don't waste an attack on something that's already dead then get fucked out of an attack because of it and optimize who hits what to maximize points. Of course, this is literally impossible without some sort of communication so an external chatroom is necessary like a LINE group, a discord server or whatever IM application everyone is okay with to organize all this. I'd join one myself but I prefer being casual in a top500 guild than to have to be stuck planning my day around guild wars whenever its up for a few extra crystals/tokens.

I'm not saying that the bosses other than the ape are super hard, they're just legit annoying especially at these current levels.

For the new year, Compass will be doing another co-op challenge from the 1st ~ 9th. This time it's to capture 10 million portal keys. Rewards are 32/64/64/128/128GB data chips.
They will also be hosting more tournaments with BM prizes to the entire (???) winning team, rather than just top players. Don't quote me on that. I finally played a tournament and it's pretty good - basically just the arena without the gay data chip restriction.

MeguX2, Megumin and Aqua have all had their full themes added to the MEGA link. I've also finally done a big update for the guide with a new user interface overview, updated gacha info + UR ticket details, more detailed card, hero token and data chip stuff and detailed info for all the game modes.
