For highschool dramas like Clannad how different are the routes? In Tsukihime and Fate all routes are pretty different minus the endings but in alot of those American translated eroge that I've played most of the things that happened in each route tends to repeat itself. Is it the same thing for Clannad or does it keep on changing?

Most high school settings, focus on ONE girls per route.
AK, usually other characters get Shafted.
In clannad, that is not the case in most routes, since the other charcters are also involved (Kotomi route(, though there are cases like Tomoyo's.
Clannad also has MANY routes/events unrelated to the main characters.

I remember reading somewhere that Little Busters Ecstacy was only a couple thousand words longer than Clannad, and there are no other VNs that I know of that even come close to those two monsters.

If you consider Muv-Luv and Alternative as one big story then it's pretty much the biggest.
But it's divided into 2 eroge so it doesn't really count I guess.

So Muv Luv and 2 Key games are it?
