PoDD is my favorite Touhou game, and the only one I’ve 1CC’d more than three times.
Nothing matches entering the hypervessel for the first time. And the soundtrack is awesome too.

I always thought it sucked so much because he was making it as a phantasmagoria game and then at some point panicked and turned it into merely the worst entry into the franchise to date.

That said, those games require a lot of assets. He'd need to take sprites from the previous games and stuff, and unlike 6-8 which all look mostly the same, each new game has a bit of a different visual design. He could still mostly unite it in double spoiler/impossible spellcard, but for a Phantasmagoria, it might not be enough.

I hope not. Phantasmagorias are shit.

i've been waiting for a new one for a while but i don't think he will.
he has kids and a wife now, he's busy writing for the mangas and doing all sorts of other stuff. pumping out regular 6+extra stage games and photo side games is probably the fastest thing for him to make on his own.
if he makes another one sometime, i wouldn't be surprised if he ended up collabing with tasofro like with the fighting games just to have extra hands.
