I think Ryuukishi is very passionate about /pol/ stuff. You can tell he had a lot of fun writing RGD. And he also fixed most of the weaknesses in his writing, so I'm really excited about WTC5.

Higanbana was kind of a throwback to Higurashi in terms of tone and Japanese folklore, but I feel like he has taken a liking to foreign names and cultures starting with Umineko.

This looks like a full scale RGD with insane fantasy/sci-fi elements and a bit more room for ridiculous, Umineko-tier situations and characters, which sounds pretty awesome.

Where the fuck can I download Trianthology and why is nobody talking about it? I know Ryuukishi only wrote a third of it, but it still sounds very interesting.

And what about the Hotarubi manga? I believe it was fully translated a while ago, so why is no one talking about it?

Higanbana and RGD get SOME discussion once in a blue moon, but they barely expand on the lore of WTC. Meanwhile, Trianthology seems to feature a cute voyager witch based on Alice in Wonderland and Hotarubi deals with an alternate world Takano and a game between Bern and Lambda POST-UMINEKO.

If Higurashi Hou is any indication, it will probably be just the 8 episodes of Umineko + a bonus chapter (supposedly taking place in the huge meta-gap between Battler and Beato's wedding and EP8).

Hou had a lot of new content, though. Kamikanshi-hen (which people thought would tie Hanyuu to the aliens in WTC5), the Outbreak alternate universe and the fantastic Hinamizawa Bus Stop, which already existed as a play before Higurashi but not in VN format.

It would be weird for Saku to have so little new content, so maybe Ryuukishi will surprise us with more extra stuff.

The new content in Hou was honestly mindblowing to me. I had the main story and the Rei chapters burned into my memory, so getting to see the characters again after so long in new stories was fucking amazing. And they had a lot of variety too. An early prototype of Higurashi that condenses the whole plot into a 4 hour long play, a more or less direct sequel to Saikoroshi-hen and a pretty depressing alternate universe story about a virus outbreak.

It's easy to forget how much of a big deal this is because the console ports have been adding a shitton of new arcs over the years. But I never had an interest in those and considered them little more than fanfiction, since they weren't written by Ryuukishi and you can't even play them with the original art.

The only non-canon story I actually enjoy and consider canon is the Natsumi one, which was originally from the manga. She is cute, the story is fucked up and the character is playable in Daybreak.

Christian values would tell you not to lose your mind and go 'You asshole, I hope you die!' and instead defend yourself respectfully, by either ignoring them altogether or attempting to understand why they feel that way. In contrast, people who adopt the opposite values would insist that you exile them out of your life and thoroughly condemn them.

The early Christians were, literally, slaves, martyrs, and pariahs. Christianity was born on spite and slave morality. One can have a master morality and still think about others, and tries his best to make others happy. (Pure) Buddhism is one of the (only) religion with a master morality: in its teachings, you're trying to be moral because ultimately it is good for you, but it is understood that being moral don't make you inherently better than others. If only because the very concept of being better than other is deeply flawed, and empty of meaning. You made a choice of helping others because you liked it, and because there is much suffering in the world, but there is no reward for your choice and you aren't expected to make it. There is no inherent meaning in helping others, but you can still become a Bodhisattva of you wish, if you want to.

That's the strict opposite of slave morality. Nietzsche himself, toward the end of his life, had nothing but praise for Buddhism. Though his early works are plagued by misconception about it.

That's why I put (Pure) in parenthesis. There were many attempts to make a slave morality religion of Buddhism, if only because it is the natural course when trying to implement a religion, and the point of contention between Theravada and Mahayana traditions. Why Vajrayana traditions are often losts to Buddhism. What is metaphor and what isn't.

Some Tibetan traditions make Gods or Immortals of past Buddhas, and that's slave morality. But even the worst Tibetan tradition admits that Buddhas aren't important or essential, and that reincarnations are meaningless, and that's the essence of master morality. Though not always accepted by the peasants praying.
