For my own stuff I stop before I get any blood loss. You can work around it but the inconvenience isn't worth it. For pets it's a good idea to give them at least a little bit of bleeding to train their healing skill. If it's adding any real risk to their fights then you're overdoing it.

This game is so fucking wacky. But my God, I'm having so much fun. My harmonica-playing, machinegun-wielding warrior just learned Jeweler in order to turn jewelry into meat so he can eat the stats.

If I put a firearm in Hand slot instead of Shoot slot, does it then become my melee range attack?

I want a shotty for melee.

-Don't take any chances on quests when your karma is negative. Being a criminal sucks!
-If you wander around the wilderness or the puppy cave, every once in a while you'll find an adventurer corpse you can bury to get a little karma. (You can pass time this way if you're a criminal and Derphy is out of jobs.) The wilderness is also a good source of non-perishable food.
-Disasters in towns go away if you leave the town and don't come back for a week. That's only a temporary solution for the problem of NPCs equipped with "attracts monsters" equipment, though. If you can trade with the NPC you can trade something for the item, or if you're a thief you can pickpocket the item from them.
-The etherwind is reasonably predictable. Get a shelter ready before the new month rolls around. (If you don't want to carry a shelter yourself, you can let your waifu carry it.)

Kill a big daddy and a little sister will spawn. Throw the little ball at the little sister to capture her. It works 100% of the time so long as you hit. Capture them asap, they're weak and you don't want them to die. You can turn little sisters in at the cyber dome to get duplicates of artifacts you've found. This includes unique consumables like hero cheese and happy apples. You can also kill little sisters and eat their corpses for a small, permanent stat boost and a permanent reduction in big daddy spawns, but this isn't a good idea.

Special action attacks like touch of hypnotism have 100% accuracy no matter what. Never start a character without that feat. Unless you're in plus, then you can take blade strings as a solid alternative.

Shouldn't have risked those quests. If you let the guards kill you you can regain your karma too. Also if you have a disguise kit, the incognito spell, or scrolls of incognito you can use other towns safely. And you can hang out in the puppy cave or something until the etherwind settles down. You had a serious string of bad luck but the game does give you ways to work around it.

To expand on this, here's how you could update a spritesheet:
>open target file in GIMP
>open modded version as a layer
>check which empty parts of the old mod image now have sprites in the newer version file
>delete those blank bits from the mod layer
>merge layer down
>save as BMP with the color space option unticked

Anybody knows a fast way to get magic seeds? i've been trying to get a wishing rod but the harvest quest barely give them

Worship Kumiromi or, if you're in Elona plus, get the statue of Kumiromi. Get a cute fairy or two. For the fairy and the statue, look up their seed schedules on the wiki.

Are magic seeds a reliable way to get wishing rods? I only grow herbs on my farms. I get my wishes from making my pets drink wells.

Also i have no idea if you can get wishing rods in a reliable way with farming, just want to check it.

Ah, you're right about the statue. It's still good for herbs though! Yeah breeding fairies is your best bet.
