You need to learn porportions(how to make parts of the body be in scale with each other), consistency(both in drawing symmetrically and in drawing the same thing again and again), perspective, and sketch some real people (like just random non magazine pictures of average people, not supermodels or weirdly distorted fatties or muscleheaps) so you can get an idea of how people actually look before using loomis/anime/superhero/whatever anatomy distortions and also helps with poses. You might want to read some supplemental stuff on muscles and anatomy. Spend some time looking at how shadows and folds work in real life too.

Also spend some time drawing expressions, so all your characters aren't just making dorky smiley faces.

I'd say you:
a) Are not moving the hue towards the shadow color enough in your shadows.
b) Using overly saturated and light yellow, red, and green for the night where the blue prevails.
c) Are not keeping in mind your light sources, as the shadows are very inconsistent.

If even the design.tutplus articles are too overwhelming for you, then sorry, but I'm out of options.

a. The shadow color is the opposite of the color of light on the color wheel. Normally, the color of light is yellow, therefore the last shadow color before black is the darkest blue.
b. Watch Sycra's color theory video at least. Basically, all colors are less saturated at night since there's less light, and there are more blue in them since the ambient light from the sky is that color. The effect is stronger the further they are from blue on the color wheel.
If we are in an environment where the ambient color is green instead, purple/magenta will be the least saturated color, and emerald & lime will look almost the same. Also, there is always some blue in the ambient light because of the reflected light from the sky, so generally an inclination towards blue in your pictures during the day will give you more believable colors.

Also, the pictures with a common hue to the whole drawing are more pleasing to look at, as it makes the palette more harmonious. To not bother with color picking, you can simply fill a layer with the color you want to add to the picture, put it on 10–20% opacity, and switch layer modes until you find the best-looking one. This pic, for example, has a mostly harmonious palette where the main color is pink, so it looks warm. I did it by using primarily the colors around it, though, not by adding a hue layer.

You got it in reverse, the value is brightness, so it decreases when shading.

a. When adding shadows, you simultaneously move the hue towards the shadow color, increase the saturation, and decrease value (brightness).
b. See the above. Bright light = bright and more vivid colors (keeping in mind the color of the light and the way it affects others that are further from it on the color wheel). Dim light = darker and less saturated colors. Except shadows are usually more saturated than lighter colors.

In most situations, ambient light is the light that affects the whole scene, and it's a combination of all the light sources that have enough strength to affect the object. It is orange at sunset, pinkish at dawn, blue at normal daylight, yellow for extreme sunlight, like in the desert, purple when you're in a purple-colored room with a purple light, or, I think but am not sure, indigo when you're in a purple-colored room with a strong light blue light.

to be fair there are a series of glaring issues about this picture that make it much worse than your regular work even including the fact that it was done in an hour:
-satori's proportions are a total mess, head is gigantic
-almost everything in the picture is blurry and foggy because you went completely ham with the soft brush and tried to color it in without any planning or lineart
-I don't even know what that pink blob on the bottom right is supposed to be
-while we're on the point of everything being super blurry her clothes are literally blobs plastered over her without regard to how clothing is supposed to go onto people
-the sofa is a giant reddish brown blob when going into your own living room would show you something that is clearly constructed of separate elements
-an almost complete lack of coherent, planned light source*, which leads to a muddy aura hanging around satori and around the corners of everything
*darkening the areas where objects touch and adding darker haze towards the outer edges of everything is not shading or a light source

I hope this didn't come off as overly harsh but you should perhaps focus less on trying to "complete" a picture in an hour and focus more on getting something that looks good within an hour. Your previous raging lesbians picture is far better by reason of having nearly everything I mentioned you neglected in the previous post despite being completed in the same time, probably because you spend half of the hour actually planning stuff with the lineart and blocking out the color regions this time.

Besides what you said, you're forgetting a different mental state (tiredness, etc.) and the different approaches to doing a pic. I'm very random in selecting a drawing/coloring method for these 1-hour challenges. For Koa x Sakuya, I used G-Pen (the main lineart tool) to cel shade first and softened the shadows thereafter with the 2-to-4-out-of-5-hard oil brush that I normally use for shading. Also, I drew them as adult women from a leg-focused angle, which I'm used to doing and which "activates my almonds," compared to an angle that I haven't seen much. I also did not have to draw a full face, and the faces are hard to draw and consume a lot of time for me. In Satorin's case, I surely spent at least 10 minutes trying to make her face not look so ugly. Lastly, I spent from 15 to 20 more minutes on the SDM crew compared to Satori.

Quite good, but there's a bunch of small errors pulling it down. Her head is a bit too far left to be attached to her neck, and I'd make her cheek less puffy. I'd also make her horns even less symmetrical because right now they just look like a mistake. Left leg should be a TINY bit shorter; if it's bent, the feet are not going to be on the same plane. Final things is her tail is extremely two-dimensional; it's sticking out to the left like it's a flat ribbon rather than a real object with form. I actually couldn't tell what it was at first because it makes a weird tangent with her leg, so I would flip it so it comes out to the right and loops back to the left. Overall though I like it; sexy abs and pleasing lines so far.

How do I know who you are? I have memory and I'm able to remember a particular style.
