Why can't /jp/ come together and create some original content or good quality doujin shit? 2ch does it ALL the time. The Chinese do it too. Plus they translate shit into chink fast and consistent. Why can't we do that?

We can't work together. One of us will have the talent to draw, one to code and one to write a plot. In theory, this would make for a good VN but then our cooperative skills is shit. The Chinese are raised to believe they are part of a collective while we were raised to be individuals. We can't put aside our differences for the sake of the community.

Actually, given that I like discussion for the sake of discussion, I enjoy "let's make a VN, Anonymous" threads with the full knowledge that such VNs will not happen.

And people like me are the main reason they don't happen, either because (perceived) lack of talent or laziness, Anonymous eager to discuss the prospect of a VN suddenly vanish when it comes to actually making it. All of us can throw around ideas with some proficiency, but not many can get down to "serious business" so the would-be project just ends up being mere brainstorming. Not that this is a bad thing.

VN will be too much work with the initial group of people who wanted to make one are in KS or dropped out after hating it.

Game will be most manageable. Arcade style game like most found in Comickets will not require too much work while incorporating drawfags, codefags, and writefags all in one.

Manga is easy, but only drawfags will be able to participate.

Same with music. Few drawfags and just a bunch of compilation of random music.

I thought one of them is going to be a /jp/ content music arrange album?

- Visual novels
- jRPGs
- Japanese 2D games and doujin games

Much better than being Touhou only. Unless you guys really want Touhou music only for some reason.

But here's also basic things that really can't be compromised, such as having something be comedy-based or drama-based. Sure, you could balance them out, but it would be tons better if you focused on a single part only and used the other possibilities to supplement it.

Everybody shut the fuck up.

Have we agreed on a project? If we cant agree on one project, then why not do multiple projects? We could create an equivalent exchange program, where if you help someone, the person that you helped will return the favor by helping you. That way all of our projects will get finished.

That's one of my goals too, but in the meantime it's best to collaborate in order to sharpen one's skills. Even Japanese ZUN didn't start making games solo.

No, because it will inevitably turn into a circle jerk and said original content creators would go off into their little world and it will no longer be /jp/, but instead they'll call themselves by a new name and form their own little clique.

There's no such thing as collaboration in /jp/. People always leave and start their private groups and hang out doing their own shit privately in their irc rooms/forums/websites.

There's no such thing as /jp/ original content. Only original content that may or may not have been done by people who just so happen to post on /jp/.

in order for something like this to work, people would need to relinquish their e-penis and stop trying to tag their work at every opportunity. some of the best original content like TOUHOU HIJACK was just spontaneously created using MS Paint and then everybody jumped on the boat and making their own versions without regards to I MADE THIS ONE, HEY! Arrange album rules: remixes/arrangements of songs from /jp/ (weeaboo) content such as:

- Visual novels
- jRPGs
- Japanese 2D games and doujin games (Touhou would obviously be here).

Use forum to share ideas, exchange music creation tips, post Works In Progress and collaborate. If one bro is good at say, vocals, and you can record guitar, then consider using both of your skills to create a single track. Both of your music skills will improve as a result, and you're more likely to get much better song out of it. It's a win/win situation. But you can also work solo.

Also, state your music specialties and software used (in an introduction thread perhaps?).

Post completed songs by: TBA

Genres: All genres allowed, even joke tunes (Touhou rap, etc).

>> No.2018577

It really would be a good idea to keep any projects on a small scale. Not all VNs have to be Tsukihime length to be good. Just look at VNs like Planetarian to see how a short story can be so emotionally affective.

Of course the less space a writer has to work the more skill he needs to produce anything of value. Still I could easily see /jp/ getting together and doing a short VN or game or manga or something. As long as people are willing to effort into the project.

Simple idea: Start off with making a literary work into a VN. Writers can work on spin-off "what-if routes" while keeping the main idea of a script intact (Say, a "Bad End" for choosing to stay with Calypso for Odyssey for example) only a basic set of expressions for the main characters is required, no one will rage over the characters (ACHILLES IS SUCH A MARY SUE WHAT THE FUCK SON OF A GODDESS WITH IMPENETRABLE SKIN? MARY SUE) and the overall game will be rather short.
