>> No.20033453

Hey Taikobros, please help me out.
So turns out the cork I bought is way thinner than the original foam, so the drum was sinking when I put it all back. Also working worse.
I wanted some advice before opening it up again because those plastic clamps really do hurt.

What exactly helps improving the Don? My Kats are very responsive so I don't wanna mess with that part.
I got the cork for the foam but I also see you can also exchange that rubber full of holes for something else. What can I use for that part? Is that what improves the don?

And lastly, since my cork is so thin, would several layers ln them on top of each other be better than the foam?
I plan to buy thicker cork this weekend anyway so I probably won't do that.

DDR is a pretty easy game to read though.
Try increasing your scroll speed bit by bit if it seems too congested. It will take a bit of experimentation to find a speed you're comfortable with.
Using NOTE for the arrows can help out a bit too since it makes them more visibly distinct than the default skin.

http://truebpm.dance/ is a pretty useful tool if you don't feel like doing the math in your head for speed mods. For songs with BPM changes it also shows you how much of the song is at what specific BPM.

Above all just play more and get used to the game.

It's mostly patterns with double steps or a crossover. I feel like I use the wrong foot a lot of the time and end up trying to hit three notes in a row with the same foot

>> No.20042293

>>20042204
DDR is odd because half of the time those crossovers actually are double steps because the patterning is so bullshit sometimes.

Learn to read the obvious crossovers (LDR, LUR, RDL, RUL) first and try to do them whenever possible. Try to get into the habit of alternating feet on each note, although DDR's patterning doesn't always let you do this.

Also, as the other anon mentioned, use a noteskin like Solo that colors the notes based on their timings, as this helps group things up.

The player base for the music games shouldn’t have to be like DDR’s, where it seems like the players are often TOO familiar with each other. A lot of players with TMI about a lot of things online and off, much of which has nothing to do with the actual game.

When I go to my R1 I’m ok with just playing my game the vast majority of the time, it’s why I’m there in the first place. I don’t reject people saying hi or coming up to me to ask something between songs, but I also don’t feel a pressing need to chat with them frequently as they play their own game nearby.

We do have our own avenue for chatting with others online, which is mainly where the people who want to interact do so.

The amount of time you see the notes before having to hit them is more important than the space between them. Offset should be considered somewhat, since each 0.1 increment in offset is essentially equivalent to 1 GN, but GN is the real "speed" at which you read. WN is mostly preference, where you trade there being less space between the notes for not having to rely on peripheral vision as much.

Virgoo had a higher base price to make up for the shipping I believe, so they added up to roughly the same price.
You probably won't notice any real difference in quality; they're both boxes with buttons, so most of the differences are QoL. TC+ only needs 1 USB, Dao doesn't need to be unscrewed etc.
The main reason you should go with the Dao though is that the buttons (and quite possibly knobs) are too close on the TC+. BT+FX patterns feel a bit cramped, and my knobs received a lot of accidental punishment going from BT to lasers, to the point where I had to replace one of the encoders after only a year.

If your keytaps aren't even crisp and loud enough to hear over the music without some stupid assist tick your timing is most likely garbage anyway lmfao

>> No.20088289

You're a dumb nigger and also the game's audio latency makes it unbearable
plus you can tell if you are timing correctly if the song sounds right because for the most part it's a keysounded game
But also if you don't slap the everliving shit out of those buttons you are not actually playing pop'n, sorry anon

>> No.20093155

>>20093098
They're both top tier and have a lot of overlap with each other, so it probably depends more on availability. If you have access to Round1, there is more longevity to IIDX, since pop'n is less common and is restricted to old, offline versions. If you are in a situation where you have access to current pop'n, then it's up to you. If you're just playing at home, you have more or less equal opportunity, so it depends on which controller you want to spend money on. If you're willing to get two controllers, doubles means IIDX has that much more "content" for you to look forward to.
