Will they uphold their promise, /jp/?

Is it even possible that work is still being done, or ever was done on this project, if all they had to show the fans was six character sprites, one BGM, and the interview about the teacher?

If it's not going to happen, was the possibility in the air truly worth holding back Melty HD for 'because they wanted it to look like the remake'?

Is Nasu even capable of creating this kind of work anymore, Mahoyo nonwithstanding? They said they were sick and tired and burned out on FGO and wanted to drive it to end of Part 2 and leave, but even if they could, would it lead them to produce more franchise-cornerstones like the works that made them famous, or more bullshit like Extella?

Is this image implying that they're aware that the bombastic Nero vs Depletion Garden stuff they had in mind for Sacchin, and by extension what would satisfy a modern audience, would not fit into the greater narrative arc of Tsukihime which derives its timeless value largely from its minimalist features? Is it even possible to remake Tsukihime without muddying it all up?

There will be more Tsukihime content in the future, there's money to be made from older fans.
Wether it'll be the Remake, we sadly don't know.
I hope Nasu can deliver another classic, but it's been so many years with subpar content and shitty Fate milking, it's hard to hold out hope. I still do, though.

As for Sacchin's route, I think it'll be a Near Side thing, and also where Nasu injects most of his new lore in the Remake, so it won't have a big negative impact on Far side.

https://www.frontlinejp.net/2018/08/15/fate-grand-order-3rd-anniversary-developer-interview-1-2/

>The interview begins with the interviewer asking the three how they feel about FGO’s third anniversary, and Nasu says that he is very tired. He then adds that this is in a good way, that three years went by in a flash and that they now have a better grasp of what they can do and what they want to do, and that rather then celebrating three years having gone by, he’s more looking forward to what comes next. Haga notes that many mobile games just end suddenly, and that they are fortunate that FGO has managed to continue for this long. He also states that he is surprised that three years have already passed, a sentiment that Takeuchi echoes. Takeuchi says that FGO was the first game they worked on with no goal, that they work on continuously like a serialisation, and that while the first year was fun, after three years, it is like Nasu said, tiring.

Satsuki is just for tertiaries.

I have read all the Tsukihime first two routes and Satsuki was nowhere. She is useless. She is like an inferior Arc. She shouldn't be there. Satsuki is a bad character. An inferior character. You shouldn't think about her: don't lose your brainpower over her. Is she even in Tsukihime? Is she even a character? Does she sparkle in the night? I think not. I think coherent. Nasu didn't think about her. Nasu thinks about Saber and big tit girl from Fate. Nasu likes money. 2 billion US dollars from the united states. That's how much US dollar he made from Fate Great Order. He doesn't care about the girl that I don't care about Tsukihime.

You know I'm rite.

Well I have read all the Tsukihime last three routes and Arcueid was nowhere. By the ratio of three to two this should make Satsuki more relevant than Arcueid.

He can't feel 'burned out' on something he wrote nothing about for ten years.

Is poverty and the humility associated with it required for subtlety in writing, that only poor writers create concise and lossless works anymore? Do your senses somehow become so overloaded when you get rich in the modern age, that you can no longer understand and appreciate, much less create, minimalist content? Does one automatically buy into the vision that bigger is always better in order to justify the bag of snacks he brings from the store every day? Does budget always have to kill perfection this way, through muddying it up with noise? Is greed natural? Does a man naturally want just because he has? Although it is certainly possible for a writer to create work he himself does not understand (ie when Kafka describes processes he is observing), is it truly possibly that a man would create a forty hour read, and later in his life get to the point where he no longer identifies with even the mere atmosphere of it at all?

Maybe it isn't a matter of a writer getting rich, but only of the modern age fully arriving. Around the time that Type-Moon grew big sensory overload delivered over the Internet reached the rich and the poor alike. (It probably hit the Internet-literate NEET the hardest.) That it happened simultaneously may just be coincidental. What isn't coincidental is that attention spans are getting shorter and fiction longer and more connected. I'm guessing that you lurk /lit/ and we share an interest in similar themes. If I am right, you may get something out of https://zerohplovecraft.wordpress.com/2018/05/11/the-gig-economy-2/..

We don't know, but most likely, Arcueid didn't kill her hard enough, and she was in clinical death for a while but got better. Roa's bits called it an incarnation, packed up and went back to Akasha - prematurely, as they always had to to prevent the natural way that would disperse the soul into components.

Then Ciel was left with an imprint of Roa on her soul and his memories but none of his agency, the world shat itself, and healed her body to work again to prevent the paradox.

What always seemed weird to me was that Ciel regenerated shallow wounds and not just lethal ones, even though just getting stabbed shouldn't really cause an issue.

Sacchin is intended to be a loser, a useless girl, it was just never really explored besides on the far side routes a bit.Arc and sacchin are both vampires, sacchin is just the shitty one, her route would be probably even better than ciels and arcueids if you think about the conflict that would build up between arc, sacchin, shiki, ciel and maybe arihiko or even a unknown character.Don't underestimated sacchins role, don't forget that tsukihime is still unfinished

When he announced Tsukihime, he had recently write about it. He simply tried to get back to it but couldn't. Probably because he never loved it? He was motivated to use it to promote KnK which flopped originally, then KNK came out and because a hit which overshadowed Tsukihime.

Fate was his teenage fantasy project, Mahoyo and KnK existed as his first works when he started to write which could be polished, Tsukihime was in retrospect not something he held in a particular emotional attachment and was only a thing to remake as one of the two works that put his company in the otaku limelight. But most people moved to Fate which provides a more flexible setting and he's actually attached to.

>2015/6/27: Final episode! (Kinoko)

I began by thinking that #25's script was "mostly original, so I should write this as a side story to the original [the VN] story."
And so I, Kinoko, was at my wits end trying to write something approximating a screenplay.

That's right. You know what I mean. In other words, I bit off more than I could chew again. Fuck!

Thus we drastically cut the parts that weren't needed for an anime... but the generous people at Aniplex said, "It would be a waste if all of your Nasu-san's work was cut, so let's include it as a special in the second box set."

Those of you interested in what was cut (Luvia's turn to shine and Luvia's turn to shine and Luvia's turn to shine, etc.) should check out the second box set.

On that note, the "stay night" aspect of Fate concluded with a splendid final episode.
But, I'm afraid to say that the Fate anime won't end yet. We're almost there, just a bit more, etc etc.

>tl;dr: Nasu's epilogue for UBW was cut down in the anime

FGO is just the symptom, not the disease itself, but it reaches further than just diluting the artistic expression. The frustration here is, as I read it, with many different interconnected things: the obviously exploitative game mechanics and the writing that cheekily teases you about them (c.f. the section The dead gods in the fic), the commodified nature of what little artistic expression there is, as well as (I think) with the incredibly derivative patterns of expression in today's society - everything being replaced with its representation and so on (c.f. The comedians of Babylon). Then there's also the frustration with the playerbase, or perhaps more aptly put, the consumers. So many of them seem aware that there is no reasonable defense of the gacha, and that they are trapped in a Skinner box, but yet they continue to perform the rituals. They seem to think that as long as they are aware that it is "problematic", or "flawed", and joke about how they are trash and how awful everything is, everything's just fine. They have resigned completely, unable to imagine any other reality and resorting to taking the destructive drugs despite knowing fully well that nothing good can come from it. As the quote that opens the fic points out, it is easier to imagine the end of the world than not rolling the gacha.

20 years ago in October, two friends posted a web novel series titled "Takebouki." At that time, the duo just formed a doujin group. Little did they know, they would launch an internationally acclaimed franchise.

Flawed, uneven and frequently misunderstood work. Their most complex as some have suggested? I don't know about that. Behind the anime bullshit it's really a very simple story, perhaps too simple. It's about the possibility of connection in the alienated urban 'scape of post-Bubble Japan. A fan's first stab at writing in the vein of the Hyakkiyagyou novels he loved; you discern the childish smudges of finger-paint and maybe you find them endearing. I don't. In his most immature works Nasu is willing to be experimental in ways the later strictures of TM's brand identity will prevent. Not a great work. Arguably not even a good work. Plot is thin and inconsistent and troubled by irrelevant asides, characters are frequently shapeless puppets, caricatures - yet there's something there, some articulation of a tension in the young Nasu himself, a tension held fast in the notion of 'everyday life' between the possibility of happiness and its repressed and twisted underside, which was lost after Fate. Lost in grail wars and servants and world-shattering plotlines and bad jokes and endless amounts of anime tiddy served up by the gacha. Nothing else like it in TM. Few things like it in weeb shit generally.

Even if you're not, it's still a very impressive VN with amazing soundtrack and visuals.

Yeah a lot of people misjudge how long FSN typically is. It's about mid length, not nearly as long as something like Umineko.

>/tmg/ says Tsukihime is better than FSN and FHA
>play it
>Arc, Ciel and Akiha are bad heroines compared to Saber, Rin and Sakura
>Shiki only sees Akiha as his sister and never develops any feelings for her. He's almost unable. Yet for Akiha's route alone he takes a total U-turn and decides to see Akiha as a woman after all
>no husbandos (Emiya, Archer, Lancer, Gilgamesh, Kirei Kotomine) for women to wet themselves over
>why are apostles acting so evil Atari?
>because they're bored!!!

Why is this so popular? The only Tsukihime route that stands out as good writing is Ciel's route. It felt like some sort of unpolished proto-Fate, the villains seemed like Gilgameshes mixed with generic traits here and there, the battles felt fast-paced and anti-climatic

Day 3, but then it slows down again. First route in general is a fairly slow introduction to the world/characters.

In terms of pacing, Tsukihime is still way faster than FSN overall.

KnK is pretty poorly written, the movies fix most of the prose issues.
Mahoyo is of course a reworked and refined work written by a far more mature Nasu.

It doesn't matter how well it's written because it's only 1/3 of a story that will never be finished.

Why does Nasu even write for FGO? The thing will shit out money no matter what he does and the thing's basically fanfiction that's contaminated by other writers anyway. He should just leave the other writers to it and concentrate on VNs and LNs because he's better at that.

>> No.20117405

>>20117378
He barely writes any of it anyway.
He only does climatic moments and the general outline of the plot.
