OP here, there MIGHT be like 100 kanji total in the game, which is awesome provided you have the vocabulary to support reading partial kana and full kana words.

For example, if you didn't know that くろまじゅつ=黒魔術, or　水晶=水晶, or a decent amount of other words, you might be stuffed. Then again, you might have an easier time hunting down the words. The grammar is piss easy for the most part unless you're not good at figuring out dialectical quirks/formal/archaic speech.

Some of the kanji would admittedly be nearly unreadable to a new learner though, 殿 and 動 come to mind as they BARELY fucking fit.

I never played the game in English and this is my first time playing either of the games, they're definitely good for GBA but as RPGs I think they're a bit rough around the edges. Still, there's a shit ton of text to read and a lot of nice vocabulary. This game is generally gonna be i+1 for someone approaching N2 so you should rarely need a dictionary for it.

Slavic languages are the SAME. You don't have to explicitly state the subject, use pronouns etc. Everything is clear, and if there is something unclear (are you saying that never happens in super strict English?) you can always use a bunch of additional words to specify what you mean.
