News:
-The Early Fall Event, "Set Sail! Combined Fleet, to the West!" is underway and is scheduled to end on October 5 at 11:00. It is a medium-scale event and the EO will take place in Europe again. The main operation consists of 3 maps; E-1 is "Southwestern Front, Bali Island", E-2 is "Western Front, North of the Malacca Strait", and E-3 is "Western Front, Southwest of Ceylon Island". The Extra Operations have been implemented, with E-4 being "The Winds of Genoa" and E-5 "Sortie at Full Strength! The New Operation Rheinübung".
-Friendly Fleets (NPC) are now available for E-3, E-4, and E-5. E-4 and E-5 received more friendly fleets.
-A new experimental cut-in, Nelson Touch, has been implemented for testing.
-There are five new shipgirls, one of which is Battleship Nelson (E-5 reward) who is voiced by Nomizu Iori and illustrated by Konishi, while escort carrier Shin'you is the main operation reward (E-3) and illustrated by Shibafu. Shin'you comes with a what-if Kai Ni as well. The Swedish seaplane cruiser Gotland is available as a drop in E-4/5 and is illustrated by drew. Yuugumo-class Kishinami is available as a drop from E-2 and E-3. The E-4 reward is Italian Destroyer Maestrale.
-New equipment available as an E-3 reward is the Type 97 Torpedo Bomber (931 Air Group / Skilled) and Ju 87C Kai Ni (w/ KMX Skilled) as E-5 Hard reward.
-The July ranking rewards have been distributed. The new equipment are the Bofors 15.2cm Twin Gun Mount Model 1930, the S9 Osprey, and the Ju 87C Kai Ni (w/ KMX). The new equipment is related to new ships coming in the event and the event after that. The Stuka is from a what-if scenario modified for ASW and to be used on Shin'you.
-Yuugumo-class will get more Kai Ni this year. Hyuuga will receive a Kai Ni this year as well.
-There are already plans for the 7th year of KanColle.
-Numerous Fletchers will be implemented in the 6th year. bob will illustrate Japanese Seaplane Tender Nisshin for the event after the Early Fall Event. Matsu-class from the Type D Destroyers are being prepared for the 7th year of KanColle.
-There are plans for expanding ASW with equipment from the land of black tea like ASDIC and hedgehogs.
-Full implementation of 2nd Sequence may take a year. Each Block will have new features added.

Definitely better. There is no subloli node.
All your CV will attack boss if you give them red planes so it is much faster to deplete the gauge.
For LD you will need to use the memejuice though and you might not have enough leftover yuroboats for part3 debuff. Just try to manage your fleet before committing everything on it.

For this part you need to choose whether you wanna use Force H or Line fleet to beat the boss. In either case you want 4 Nazi+French. Easily filled with Biscuit, Rich, Pudding +1. Tashkent and Ooyodo who can equip 2xWG42 are useful here.

E5 P3 debuff with Line
2BB + 1CVL is the bare minimum. Rest of the slots will be filled with CAV like suzukuma for air power. Escort fleet should be filled with as many high luck DD that you can bring since you need to have at least 2 TCI to procc to kill the himes for A rank.

Daihatsu DD? Not needed in my opinion.

It's literally a design problem. The whole point of the player fleet is to have to make it through multiple battles before reaching the boss. In this context, having AACI makes sense. It's something that's moderately helpful at getting you there with less damage.
For an Abyssal fleet, the design should be totally different. AACI has no purpose in the Abyssal fleet other than to penalize the use of any sort of bomber on carriers. No amount of air power can prevent it, and so setting carriers up for attack means that you have to load so many bombers on that you end up sacrificing parts of air superiority. It's even worse when you take into account CVCI, which requires specific kinds of planes to make work. If one of those kinds ends up stackwiped, then goodbye to your CVCI.
But because Tqanaka is so obsessed with giving player advantages to abyssals, they got it. Expect to see himes with Touch Mode soon.

The way I see it I can:
a). Take Akagi's T21(Skilled) off her and put it on an LBAS, which puts a high-quality fighter in one of my bases and might reduce air power at the boss better, and replace that fighter with a Reppuu on Akagi. The drawback is that she loses whatever bonus multiplier she's getting from the plane.
b). Fuck it and make one land base entirely T21(normal, unskilled), which might do something reducing boss air power but sacrifices potential LBAS damage for the sake of almost the worst fighters in the game.

I guess you should go with fighter mule CVL then. For me the CVL didn't do much during night.
It's possible to one shot boss with CVCI, but my carriers didn't hit boss too often so I'm not sure how much you need for it. 2x fighter bombers + torpedo bomber + fighter and green T is the best you can get.
Not sure about the sanshiki, but with that setup Tone can chop at least half of the boss during night, so keep her at bottom with her sister.

Can you really call it suijou with all the restriction set up on you? I don't think so. Not to mention I don't have enough historicals left to set up 2 top notch teams. From what I've heard, though, both the route and the boss are cancer with suijou. The route is really easy with kidou. During chipping (without support and barrels), I had 2 clean kills and 3 half kills. I was only sent back a few times, mostly by the subs on the first node.
Oh, and LBAS were 1/3, 1/3, 0/4. All LBAS planes leveled up to max. When shelling started only the 3 main ones were left alive.

Yes, I came to a similar conclusion as well. If you carefully allocate your ships beforehand it's quite doable to double up on the correct Europeans for the first two parts and leave enough for the STF in the third. Immediately start using the 4 Germans and French in Part 1 Force H saves Europeans for Part 3 STF, for example.

I never why under people farm on such a shit drop rate. If you just do a cost benefit analysis, there is no way Z2 will consume 3x the amount resources. Z2 only has 1subnode, 1normalnode and 1airnode.

So I'm about to hit up E5 P2 with CTF. Haven't used any of my krauts or frogs yet. Now, I know CTF is recommended for everything, albeit you need to send STF once to debuff the boss. But is doing the debuff possible without Euros? The path looks doable with LBAS, and an A-rank isn't hard at all. I'm really fucking short on German ships and I'd rather save Prinz for CTF.

I'm starting E2 later today, and after searching through the archives a bit I think I'm gonna steal this Anon's homework. My Sara is setup as in Mod 2 though, but if I'm reading the branching rules right, that only matters for avoiding node B in phase 1? I'm wondering if I can get away with just slotting in an Unyruu-class for TP phase and then use Sara for the HP phase.

Chromium causes my computer to shit itself once E5P2 boss fight begins so I can't even go into night battle because the interface is all screw up. To make it worse, post battle suggests everything was fucking perfect: no cheverons lost, escort fleet is all green (except Jervis who keeps eating dick all the time), LBAS planes are still in tact. I am turning off hardware acceleration, it is a joke that a bloody 1050ti can't handle a pachinko simulator.
