Take it the way you want to, but reading Akyuu interview with Kanako, or Hijiri (can't remember, it's been years) on the second Akyuu's work (the one with Miko and Marisa) and reading her saying things like we, in our world, unlike Gensokyo, don't know anything about how to create/build/make the things we have (cellphone, for example). She was talking about capitalism, I think.
I was touched when I first read it. It made us all look like lazy, useless and materialistic faggots.

At this point in time, it's not even reasonable to criticize people for being ignorant of how technology is made and how it works. In school, we are only taught very general theory before most of us go of to Uni to specialize in a specific field. The overwhelming majority of people don't even pursue an advanced STEM education and those who do still have to specialize and the depth of that specialization can only be understood by those who have pursued and advanced STEM education. The average human of average IQ has a pretty low ceiling for what they can manage to wrap their head around in their lifetime and now amount of life experience can equip someone with the tools needed to achieve mastery in a specific field. Some people are just born gifted at specific things and others aren't born with any talents beyond the ability to fit into society.
