Seriously guys. Out of 92 matches, I've won 6. Meltybread doesn't have shit for a beginner, and neither does google, so I'm just going to stop playing. It's just too depressing to rape the computer sideways, and then never get a hit in when I try to play online.

>> No.1986443

If you can't enjoy losing, then a 1vs1 game where someone will always lose is just bound to frustrate you. So, walking away might be the best course of action.

I mean, you might enjoy a fighting game that's less combo friendly (IaMP, maybe? I'd say SWR, but it still needs some patching), but even then, you'll still lose most of the time against players that have a lot more time invested. That's how the genre usually goes.

If you do wanna stick with it, then maybe check youtube for some tips and ideas. Searching for MBAC basics comes up with a lot of combo guides and such, for example.

Here's how to get better:
Learn BnBs and blockstrings, practice them A LOT in practice mode until you can pull them off any time. BTW, don't bother playing the computer.

Watch japanese vids. Go to youtube user Daruism and watch videos of your character (don't watch the new ones, though, as they are MBAA, not MBAC). Imitate how those guys handle each situation: when opponent is far away, close, on air, attacking, defending.

Play other people, use those combos and blockstrings you practiced and base your overall gameplay like the ones you saw in the vids. While playing, see where your holes are. What habit of yours end up getting punished everytime? Keep note to never do those again.

Keep on playing and watching vids, have fun, get better.

>Meltybread doesn't have shit for a beginner,
Huh? Melty Bread has everything you need.

Start out by reading the usual ``big'' thread about your character on melty bread. You usually get the list of bnbs, some blockstrings and common mixups. Grind out at least one bnb in practice modo. Try getting at least one proper blockstring too.

Then, every time you can, play with people. Practice modo and computers are fine and all TO PRACTICE, but you will only really learn how to play by playing. You'll learn what you shouldn't do (ie mashing 2a on your wakeup, spamming specials, trying to poke out too much.. all common beginner mistakes).

If you get too frustrated, take a break. When you get too frustrated, you tend to do stupid shit, which usually gets punished, which usually just makes you even angrier. Losing 90 rounds to someone, if your ego can take it, WILL make you learn something but it isn't worth it if you just mash 2a every round past the 10rd because you want to get a hit in because you're pissed.

When you can't play with people or when you're too frustrated to play with people, go back to practice modo. Try other blockstrings, learn your advanced bnbs, etc. Every dmg you can squeeze out will matter once you get better.

>> No.1986493

>>1986481
Use 2C to launch instead of 5B. Still not the optimal Nero BnB, but the timing doesn't need to be as tight, it works better against the lolis, and you can blowback if it's blocked to mess with people's heads or give you enough room to spit out an animal.

You're hilarious. Because as we all know, that NEVER gets punished immediately and brutally.

I've tried using 2C instead of 5B, but I just can't time it at all. 5B is multi-hit, so it's easier or, in my case, actually possible[/spoiler ]to time the jump cancel.

The thing about punishes is that they're normally open to massive punishes themselves. Don't be predictible. Vary your tempo. Mix up your combo. Sometimes through in a 4C at the end instead of an animal. Or leave it blank. Or IAD. Nothing is airtight. Every blockstring can be punished if you know where the gaps are, which is why good players use lots or stop them early to cancel into a new one and mix it up with throws.

Also, dash cancel your jump-ins more. j.C66j.2C is Len's viciousiest crossup. Use her j.Bs more too. She's got awesome reach on them and then hit high. You can also launch with 2B5B against most (but not all) characters for a little more damage than 4B. You can't chain the ex-ice off of it though. Also, after the 236[A], you can 2B5B (or 2B5C) for more damage, or 2B214C to drop a cat on their face and keep the pressure up.

Oh, and toss in some 623s every now and then on your blockstrings. Not always though. Good people will just throw you out of them if they're expecting them, but you can cancel the first pirouette or toss in a low recovery 2nd one (comboable to 612C and then launch in corner). You CAN also 214C at the end of Len's blockstrings, and then dash forward and throw them before the second hit, but it really only works well as a mixup since the toss is slow enough for anybody who's watching for it to hit you out of it.

Enjoy copying other people and wasting countless hours to become better at a computer game so you can beat people and showing everyone online that you did.

Actually, it's 5AAAAA. And learning on-the-fly and developing your own 'style' is much more fun.
But yeah, have fun with your monotony and tiny IRL penis.

Actually, "copying" a person who plays well is not like what you are thinking. It's like observing an NBA player, you just learn the proper forms of techniques, yet ultimately it is you who controls how you do in your own match. Learning a proper technique does not grant you skills, but only accelerates the skills you learn by doing it your self. Especially in fighting games, you can't help but develop your own style as you play with other people, no matter if you observed thousands of matches. In anything, I like to develop my own style with a firm basis built on by knowledge of other people who have perfected it, I believe I have more to work with in creating my own style with that basis and consequently a lot more fun in doing the activity. I guess this is where it makes you and me different, you may have more fun starting from scratch.

Sry but I cannot respond any further, it is 3:30 right now and I must go to school tomorrow, I'll be stroking my very small dick (damn, how'd you know that just from an anonymous post) to sleep.

Gonna be lunch, because the fucking DC doesn't serve breakfast after 10 AM anymore...
