Post photographs and videos you or others have taken around Japan.
Modern or traditional, urban or rural, landscape or macro, anything is good.

That was a pretty good run you had going there! Don't worry too much about photos being rotated when you post. They're easy enough for anons to fix themselves and I'd prefer the original, which I grabbed from warosu, so that I can use the lossless transformations plugin in IrfanView to rotate them, without losing any quality.

Found a nice hotel room, 220€ a week, individual room, shared showers and toilets, but all was extremely comfy and clean. Food was cheaper than in my mid-tier european country, etc...

These are matome (summary) blogs that compile and edit threads from boards like 2ch, 4chan etc and plaster ads all over the results. They're basically parasitic.

I wasn't aware they were reduced to translating stuff from 4chan these days, really scraping the bottom of the barrel...

A month back I took my annual trip to Japan and went around a lot of places. At this point I've pretty thoroughly explored Kinki/Kansai and Chugoku, so next year I'm thinking of going to Shikoku/Kyushu or Tohoku/Hokkaido. There are many places I'd like to visit in those regions, except for Hokkaido because I don't know too much about it. All I know is that the weather is comparable to America's Midwest and they have wonderful food due to the agricultural industry

So if any of you have been to Hokkaido, what places would you recommend? And could you post pics of where you visited?

The issue is that it's turning into a real ruin at this point, it hasn't been properly maintained for many years. It's starting to rust all over and the whole exterior of the building is wrapped in safety nets now. The iconic look is kinda gone at this point.

It badly needs a renovation and no one wants to renovate a building full of asbestos. It's the owners' fault for letting it deteriorate to this extent.

The site for me has corrupted text encoding so I can't find out exactly where it was taken (http://cafe-alpha.org/cafealpha/kaidashi/kaidashi01/k_ysk.htm)), but it's definitely the place depicted in YKK both the manga and OVA where Alpha watches the lights of the flooded city turn on, which is Yokosuka. Someone has put together a set of sites on google maps relating to YKK but none of the points seemed like good candidates. Hopefully I can find it over a weekend.

You can develop film there at most places in under an hour. Get one of those film binders, and you can store up to 50 rolls in a relatively small area.

But yea, digital would be much easier. I have a nice digital body I use whenever I go on vacation with the family. Film is for around town or when I am somewhere by myself.
