Mokou isn't just immortal, she's incredibly powerful. Remember, power in Gensokyo comes from both innate ability and experience (practice and knowledge of magic, combat, dodgan bullets, etc.)

Mokou would just burn the shit out of you.

But there ARE upper-tiers of power, and Mokou belongs in them.

Remember, it took the pairing of a Youkai and a human to beat her to the point of her surrendering through the pain.
If she doesn't want to surrender and doesn't give up because it hurts, immortality is a handy helper in a fight.

If you go by canon, Yukari had little to do with it, aside from telling her little miko slave that she could go full power and kill Mokou. Mokou only surrendered because Reimu wouldn't stop ripping her guts out and playing around with her intestines.

lol no, Yukari's been playing Reimu like a fucking fiddle since they first fought. that's pretty much the basis for the plots of IN, SA, SSiB, and part of SWR.

meh, it's one of those silly questions that really doesn't need too much thought into.

In any case, whenever Mokou dies in the game, she resurrects cleanly anew and where she died but in her starting position. So I'd assume lethal injury like that would just cause her to respawn out of captivity.

Though it isn't canon, doujins seem to agree that neither Mokou or Kaguya can indefinitely trap one another like that without them simply respawning out of it so the conflict can never really be resolved by just simply encasing one in concrete or something.

Though really we don't need to encourage power level discussions on Mokou. Her trick is she doesn't stay dead, that's all you need to know.

Kaguya is just as immortal, so you should probably try it on her first. Her screams should be more intense since she's used to a NEET lifestyle and so the sunlight will be unbearable for her, whereas it would just recharge the healthy and energetic Mokou.

I could probably count on my fingers the number of residents of Gensokyo capable of doing anything like the OP suggests to Mokou that her immortality and phoenix flames couldn't get her out of.

Probably one hand, actually. Yukari is the only one who comes immediately to mind. It's already been said canon that Yuyuko and Shikieiki's powers don't work on Mokou, which shows how absurdly powerful her immortality makes her.

I believe you can. People have undergone surgery without anesthesia by hypnotizing themselves to not feel any pain. Basically, by years of practice you learn to control your subconscious to the point of being able to turn off your awareness of pain.
