You know what's the worse? I had a JK which I believed was interested on me. We talked a lot on Line (she is learning English) and she was always very cute and sending me hearts and stuff the whole day. I was in love, absolutely in love and could marry her. I can't speak of the Japanese school life, but where I'm from the P.E. uniforms in high school did change designs every year, same for ID formats so you could tell from a mile not only who was in what school but also what grade they were in. So given that I do believe it's possible for schools there do the tie/ribbon stuff in real life even if it's just one school on the entire country.
