FP feels more perfume-y than CE but it's pretty bland, unfortunately. There's not a single music that I want to listen repeatedly.

Let's hope they disband as soon as the album tour is over.

Future Pop just seems better as a whole while CE is just a ton of random compiled songs. And the whole remastered thing does sound better than album mixes.

But it still has it's problems. It feels so rushed, like he has to meat the pop 3:00 deadline. Everything feels out of place. This doesn't really even feel futuristic so why go with this theme. I get more of a Christian feel for some weird reason. It just feels like a little jingle. It's so fucken short, feels so fucken short, passes by so quickly. The drum and bass idea, usually drum and bass music feels very full, surrounding your full ears with sound. This song feels kinda thin. Maybe that's just cause of bad radio quality but the verses felt fuller. Feels like he just threw this in there like, ah that's good enough ooh 2 minutes new record for finishing my song. And again, it's kinda forgettable. Stuff like this has been done and he's doing nothing to set himself apart unless you count that first very cringey buildup to the drop. His quirky cringeyness use to be kinda cool weird charming, now it's just bad and feels like he's just putting it there to say, hey that's my signature sound.
It's a shame what juggling a ton of other artists projects can do to an artist themselves. The pop genius became a joke, yet people in japan don't realize it just yet, cause he keeps trying to be this groundbreaking guy who brings popular western trends to the Japanese pop industry.

But being honest, I kinda actually like this one. The pre chorus is stuck in my head and it doesn't bug me. Sure it's not the best nakata song, definitely not but it's a fun song, I do like the melodies and chords mainly in the pre chorus not to much the verse and the drop is what it is. I don't think it's too on par with level3. Level3 as an album is cohesive and doesn't feel messy. It feels like one big thing and nothing about it makes me cringe and it's still has good taste. He always does something unique and groudbreaking. It was when 2012-2013 when Perfume decided to push through internationally that changed Nakata. The music now has to cater internationally and Nakata had to follow suit. Perfume's music were a success from Level3 to CE, and brought the current fans today, but they were never Nakata's "music". Hell, he was never even recognized around that time, it was always MIKIKO or Daito. Some people say he never really cared much for Perfume since his main focus was always with other artists, especially Kyary. Pretty much he did put all his effort to others, he really wouldn't have enough room to grow. It ended up something he had to do than what he wanted to do. He may be content, but he didn't happy with it. If he kept just churning out the same 2012-2016 music that everyone likes for Perfume, it would've gotten stale fast, and thats not gonna go well for someone like Nakata.

At the same time, he felt theres no more room to grow in Capsule and decided to go solo and he's never been happier. So what better time to do something different that would made him happy. To us, EDM from yesteryear is shitty and overused, but to Nakata's its a clean new slate. He's not trying to bring popular western trends to the Japanese pop industry, he's someone who's transforming a "beaten to death" trend by western standards into something new and uniquely Japanese, which he has always been doing, especially with Perfume. Now, he makes what he wants to make rather than cater to others with his previous work. Perfume will always adapt to new things and followed along. Even Kyary as well. Either we go along for the wild ride or decide to call it quits.

One good thing that came out of this is that he's now more active with Perfume. He's been their producer for over a decade, but only last year they were able to publicly meet up and even perform together.

We all want Level3 Era, but that's already gone in the current FP Era. Just like JPN and Triangle Era is gone when Level3 came out. Nakata will not return to that style and will always keep moving forward with Perfume. We can stay or we can keep moving forward with them. Many left when Level3 and CE came out, but new fans will always come in.

As for how the songs are laid out in the album, I agree they could do better. They decided to add existing songs, which did screw up the flow.

You do that Japanese Future Bass has been a thing for a while. But to be fair it doesn't nearly get as much attention in the oricon charts (but that might be other factors, e.g., the jumunshi system and whatnot)

Okay my dude you have a point on puppy love. Although I always compared it to negai and always feel that puppy love is one of the best album closers. But about love the world and dream fighter. Did you really just compare it to baby cruising love and macaroni. I love those two songs as well, so let school you all. You guys never seem to take in account nakata's production? The sounds that take the music even more forward. Which is why to this day people still say these songs sound so modern yet they were made in 2008. I'm pretty sure I won't hear that about baby and macaroni. Those songs are fin but not revolutionary at all. Check out the cool choppy gutair chords in dream fighter. How wide and clean he got that distorted bass. That shit was new at least in the pop world back then. And it still feels fresh. The vocal processing and manipulation. And there's just way more, very groove driven percussion, everything sounds nice in it's place, the amount of other little melodies and nakata tidbits bits he hides. Now love the world, god that progression and that fucken riff/melody. That kind of little glitchy light hearted melody is something I've never really heard in modern pop. It's very jazzy I think, but it works so well for the sound he went for. It always reminds me of computers and robots. The vocoder hes got there makes some great harmony grooves as well. C'mon yuka's solo on the bridge. You all honestly also have to think whether his creativity is pushing it forward or is this just a song. Yes I love baby cruising love. I use to try and copy those chords but it doesn't feel as creative as other songs. That's what made him a genius, his compositions and production that are still modern to this day. Just listen to polyrhythm or dream fighter. Hell, jumper was made in the 3022

I love dream fighter with all my heart but there's a learning curve to enjoying it due to the aggressive vocal editing. no it isn't masterful at all it's unique and that's the only characteristic I'd give it.

again it's in my top 5 songs of all time probably but you can't say that it's objectively better due to production, that implies that the more complex the song is, the harder it is to make sound good, that's just a lie. simple songs can be hard to make stand out and that's why baby face and Voice are so fucking boring.
macaroni and baby cruising love melds perfumes vocals with nakata's music perfectly and they're symbiotic with each other unlike dream fighter or even love the world to a lesser extent. those songs overpower perfume and their vocals and it just feels like nakata taking the reins completely. as iconic as they are for perfume you don't feel the individuality of each member.

not that I blame nakata for that, they're not good enough vocalists for him to continue on with his sound and keep their individuality intact, they've never been able to harmonize which is a huge problem so it's understandable that he stopped putting the effort into doing it in post without tampering with their voices.

The part really like for some reason is right when the drop drops, look at yuka and then nocchi. Although I feel some parts don't go well with the song. well no, shibuya-kei is a style of music that originated in shibuya, it's not a term for music that comes from shibuya, most music comes from shibuya, it's literally the music capital of Japan. and that's why I love it so much, I never wanted to leave when I was there
pretty sure shibuya kei is just things that sound similar to the sound that originated in shibuya.

the reason it's not a genre is that it borrows from a huge range of genres and each song utilizes them to a different scale to the point where many songs sound different.

the most importent and the most visually awesome was just traveling by coach, never travel by shinkansen, it's not an experience you need to have, there is nothing spectacular about it or the scenery and it's expensive as all fuck. coach, on the other hand, will show you some of the most breathtaking sights you've ever seen. Japan is such a beautiful country.

not to mention the rockstar treatment just for being a gaijin is true as fuck, I had people stopping me in fast food places and cafes to talk to me and when they saw I knew a little Japanese we would spend half an hour trying to talk.
