1964199 No.1964199 [Reply] [Original]

As requested, Takajun reviewed Sumaga.

>One line plot summary:
>The main character has the ability to take a revenge at life after he dies, and uses the ability to try to reach a happy ending.

>Story: 4/10
>They had a good idea, but totally ruined it in the execution. First of all, everything about it was too convenient. Yes, there’s a reason for it, but most of the story felt too forced. Some plot was completely ignored in other scenarios while some were added in others (like limited ressurection). And since the story is a repetition of the same events, events got boring after a while. I hate it how the basic story doesn’t change that much no matter what you do or which girl you go after. And what killed the story was the mix of comedy and serious action. It tried to do both, and failed in both of them. They would add comedy to serious scenes, so the scene would become non-serious, and since it also tried to be serious, I found the comedy to be really out of place. The actions aren’t hot either like in previous Nitro+ games.

>Characters: 4/10
>Most of the characters sucked. The only good girl was Oki. Most of the other girls were selfish and jealous bitches who would attack you for not doing what they wanted. And their roles would conveniently change depending on the story. For example, Yuka would be portrayed as hostile to the witches, then suddenly portrayed as the nice person, then suddenly back to a mean bitch, depending on what the story required.

>Graphics: 8/10
>The graphics were good. They were beautiful and I really liked the touch.

>Music: 9/10
>The music is great!! The game has great vocal songs and BGM. They fit the atmosphere nicely and the vocal songs are better than what you’d expect from an eroge. They are so nice that I want the soundtrack to this game.

>System: 3/10
>It has basic functions, but it’s very heavy. Unless you have a good spec computer, it’ll probably lag to do anything. Saving, loading, opening up the config screen, etc… leading to a lot of irritation. It has a super quick skip function which isn’t really that quick… The game also has many unnecessary functions and animations. For example, the game has short skits when closing the game, but I don’t want anything else when I’m closing the game!!

I AM FILLED WITH RAGE. TAKAJUN IS NO LONGER MY BRO.

>> No.1964213

>Ero: 5/10
>The ero scenes had good CGs and voice acting, but they just didn’t seem good. They were mostly in weird situations and had lots of turn-off stuff, at least for me, like tail-sucking, tentacles, and dildos.

>Overall: 4/10
>The game was actually voted by 2ch to be one of the best eroges of 2008, but for me, it was a pain to play through.
>Recommended to people who like magical girls happy ends, convenient story, robots and drills(?). Do not expect a nitro+ like game.

It's shit. Shit right?

TakaJun is the man who translated Wanko and Men at Work 2.

It's obvious that his tastes are terrible.

I am inclined to finally agree with you.

And why do we give a shit about what Takajun thinks again?

Sumaga definitely wasn't the best eroge of 2008 (G Senjou deserves that place), but it certainly wasn't bad. 8/10 game.

I'm using a shitty buggy laptop with Vista, and all of that goes at a normal speed for me. Is he running it on his toaster?

I would rage (HOW DARE YOUR TASTES DIFFER FROM MINE), but I don't even know what kind of games Takajun likes. Other than Wanko.

This surprised me. I was under the impression that Sumaga appealed to LOTS of fetishes while still being generally hot.

Well, it's pretty different from a lot of other Nitroplus games, tone-wise, so it probably wouldn't go over too well with people who expect GRIMDARK.
