As for whale mission, I'm not sure. I always thought everyone can access that easily.
But if your question is more in the line of "how strong is my team needed for the whale missions?" then I'd say when you have 8 full team of gold flower and they are all max leveled, that should last you for quite a bit.
You can evolve and/or bloom them, but if you are new, I'd probably just max level them first before doing mass evolution/blooming

At least both of these are leagues ahead of Anri and Koharu. Druid is the budget Rinne class after 2AW and Fiore gives you stealth on top of that, I see her often in low unit count clears because of the trees. Kurama is a bundle of weird mechanics thrown together at the last minute (single-target physical fireballs, why not) but she's still the only unit that can give stealth to melee, which is relevant if you want to burst Furfur with Rion or something.

How is everyone's subjugation going? I managed to get a decent AFK setup going. Only issue I had with this setup is the rush of units from the center cliff that squeeze between the melee slots doing some beefy hits to prince but putting a healer preferably with Oracle AW2 between Nadia/Lychnos seems to alleviate any issue there and then it was a smooth breeze to the end.

Finally done with this gacha, sure it took me while but she's coming home, now we wait for the release.

I got 21.3kk on element and 18-19kk off element with my best party (pic related), which places me now at 8k best and 5k total. My grid isn't even max skill level (due to laziness), although it's close.
Anyways the big whales have 5 MLB Dragons which prop them to 70+k power besides the FLB gacha weapons (like the ones with assault large + assault small), and phantom whatever. And of course all unlocked access slots. Finally they use all possible means to double/triple attack and burst as fast and as often as they can (since with that much HP and always being on element they don't give a shit about defense or anything else). I managed 2 bursts, they probably managed 3-4. It's no surprise they dealt 5 times the damage I dealt.

Not outright better, but harder to replace and useful in a greater number of situations. Iris only provides a strong heal and nigh-immunity to physical damage, both of which can be replicated by other units (or made unnecessary by e.g. timestops and 100% dodge), while no other healer can match Rinne's combination of absurd range, flexible placement options and multiple layers of death insurance.

There are places where Iris is unquestionably better, but these are fewer than the cases where Rinne is easily the superior option.

Incidentally, the "shara" in Himeshara's name refers to the sal tree that features heavily in Aoi Shiro, as the trees are unrelated but have very similar appearances (which is also mentioned in the VN: Buddhist temples in Japan plant stewartias because the climate is not suitable for true sal, resulting in these being called "sal tree" as well). Clearly a fitting tree for a yuri relationship.

As your grid is right now , it only gives you 88% elemental ATK because of Fleurety, slot Garuda and Icaros over Iwanagahime and Adrammelech to get a much bigger boost than the couple hundred ATK you'll lose.

It's hard to say not knowing what kind of units you can work with but anything with decently high defense and any form of evasion/damage nullification is great to deal with the massive gunner count on the left side. Right side is where I've found pretty much all of the difficulty in the last rush because of the insane amount of units so as much AoE as you can get from things like samurais/mage armors/Nadia/Lychnos/Alice/Fuuko and a nice blocker in the final melee spot seems to go a long way to help a lot. A demon summoner on the spot to the right of the path also goes a long ways so long as you can deal with the archers that tend to destroy anything in that slot in the earlier portion of the map.
