Anyways, question to Fray G. When did you finally realise you was a nocchifag, and what led to this? Same question to cringey-san? I know you are loyal to yuka, but I am really interested in what make non-nocchifags convert. I'm not gonna pretend that K-Pop and J-Pop don't have very similar idol production systems, but the thing I like about Japan is that you can start of as independent idol group (similar to indie bands( and work your way up, e.g., perfume. Unless you join one of the bigger groups like the 48 groups, where more often everything is set in place ready for your perfect debut. A lot of the J-Pop idols I've seen are very average looking (again this isn't the case for the larger groups). I mean look at the members of dempagumi inc. Anyways. Did anybody else think when they heard future pop album announcement that it was going to be some futuristic concept (I guess they;ve always had this concept within perfume). I mean most of the synth-pop from the 70s and early 80s had a futuristic robotic theme to them and Nakata's music has always incorporated synth-pop into his music. They are both boring interviews. I don't know man. Its been mentioned several times why he is whack. I was more making the point that he is using perfume to promote his solo stuff. But to summarize whats been said several times: he is literally making generic future bass music with a vocal style that doesn't suit the group. Japanese Future Bass isn't so bad, if you have over the top kawaii vocals etc. The current Future Bass is somewhat relevant , but its dated at this point by 4 years. The type of tropical house he also tends to use these days is still somewhat relevant again, but again its dated I would say back to 2013. Most importantly he has sacrificed his good song writings abillities for some reason. The most frustrating thing is that its not as if he has lost his touch (See mito natsume, and the odd KPP song) , his actively going for what he perceives will get him festival shows While the quality of his music was declining slowly, there was a big shift in from 2015 onwards. Obviously music is subjective and all that shabbazz, if you enjoy the new stuff thats coolio, but there appears to be obvious shift.

I've heard similar artists to madeon like porter robinson (another who's openly took inspiraion from the japanese electro pop scene and nakata of course). I guess I would say there seems to be too much going on (in the case of the madeon album), e.g., too many effects and shit that don't really add anything to my listening experience. Don't take this in the wrong way, but fans of people like madeon/zedd tend to be the younger generation (of course this is not a reason to dislike an artist). I'm bit older than you- maybe this is a factor. Another big factor was the lyrics, which came off a little too generic/ for me. Yeah, the best answer would be personal preference I think. Now that I think about it madeon's album reminded me of a lot more of Daft Punk (I wouldn't be surpised if he grew up on a bit of french house, considering they're both french).

Not sure how you came to this conclusion. But I guess you could say I prefer my pop music to have the normal song stucture, i.e., intro-verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge/verse-chorus-outro. I listen to a lot of stuff from grindcore to folk to hip hop... blah blah (not bragging, just giving some context of my musical tastes)

I'm not gonna even mention looks. When nocchi acts cute, its comes off as natural. A-chan is super forced. Yuka is forced, but not annoying as a-chan. This is the thing I love about nocchi, There no pretense. She isn't gonna change her personality to entertain people (granted without a-chan doing that type of stuff perfume probably wouldn't get as many tv opportunites as they do).

Houseki no ame is the only real good song in the album. Mugen Mirai and Tenku are fine too and that's it. Tiny Baby would actually be a allright if wasn't for the annoying baby sounds in the background (and if you don't pay attention to the weird ass lyrics).The rest is straight up garbage.

I can't even tell if it's better or worse than CE. Both seems equally bad for me.

Future Pop is not a very good album. For the record I've liked all their previous albums including CE.
