I kinda like edgy movies if there are giant nuclear dinosaurs in them. I even "liked" the godawful godzilla movies from the era where he plays basketball with a boulder and an hairy atlantean launch the gayest kaiju ever devised on earth so it's just the ugly animation stopping me.

Many Japanese hate Zilla by arguing that Devlin said that Zilla is a remake of Ray Harryhausen rather than Godzilla based on this image.

I don't really mind the janky animation. It is what it is. I can't tell however if the translation is shit or just the writing. Everyone speaks in this esoteric and incredibly indirect form of LOFTY DIALOGUE. It seems to plague a lot of shitty anime, and I can't tell if it's a matter of people who aren't 100% fluent translating too literally and losing the nuance, or if it's just a stylistic meme of japs writing out of their depth.

I am new to the whole kaijus things, what is a good way for me to get into the franchise?

I'd recommand watching Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla from 1974 to really get what the good old godzilla movies are like. For the newer wave from the late 80s unto 2000 I'd recommend Godzilla vs Megaguirus or Godzilla vs Biolante. I'd say those are some of my favorite as they perfectly capture the essence of the movies directly surrounding them. But in older godzillas you really have gems alongside the crap. For example Rodan is an awesome movie while King Kong vs Godzilla is absolute shit.
