There were supposed to be only 2 WGs, so I swapped the one on Arashio for a daihatsu. I've thrown both compositions into the simulator (https://kc3kai.github.io/kancolle-replay/simulator.html)) and mine has ~11.8% S-rank rate while yours has ~12.5%. You're giving up your DDs ability to kill anything by using weak setups, your CAV and CL lack the punch to go full power. And they do amount to more than that, if you replace node B with node A the accuracy falls by about 1%. I can come up with arguments why your composition is not much better than mine as well. You don't utilize artillery spotting at all, which makes the Ru node and the day battle at the boss node much harder. Type 3 shells aren't as good as you think because they don't give bonuses against artillery imps. It's better for Yodo and CAV to have one WG each rather than giving Yodo two because then they can artillery spot during the day and still have around 200 NPB double attack against the boss and almost reach the cap against imps. Kamo is not a dead weight, because she enables the fleet to reach AS and acts as a meat shield during the night because of searchlight. Those "weak setups" on DDs still reach day cap against imps and the boss, and during the night they result in double attack with about 200-250 NBP (depending on whether you look at Ooshio or Arashio because the daihatsu with 89 tank is slightly better) which is arguably better than single attack even with night cap reached.

Anyway, numbers always matter more than opinions or circumstantial evidence. The game mechanics (for non-event maps anyway) have been researched pretty well at this point. Vita game was a huge step forward because it ran locally as opposed to server-client model so it's code could be reverse engineered and then results were confirmed experimentally with the browser game. That simulator is open source, so possibility of the author meddling with it on purpose is really slim. And without tools like that we have literally no way of accumulating a sample size big enough so that it's significant (perhaps it could be done using databases like poi-statistics, but event then a lot of players would have to agree to use the exact same or very similar composition for a long time). Even if it's not 100% accurate, it's still much better than arguing with opinions and circumstantial evidence, which seems to be the norm when it comes to games like KanColle.

I'm not saying my composition was good. I noticed that if I change the ship order slightly (like on pic related) it's accuracy rises to ~15%, so there's that. But you can't say that it was "absolutely terrible" and then go on to list another one which is not much better, if at all.

I don't have better LBAS planes and I don't like putting Iwamoto there for convenience reasons. I like to spread out my 6-4 over a few days so that I can repair smaller ships and lightly damaged ships in the meantime. If I put Iwamoto there I would have to wait each time I take it out and pay bauxite each time I put it back in because I might be doing other maps that require carriers at the same time. It doesn't matter most of the time because AS/AS+ is achieved during LBAS phase anyway.

Wrong. Wikia and wiki say otherwise: http://kancolle.wikia.com/wiki/Combat/Installation_Type, http://en.kancollewiki.net/wiki/Installation.. The bonus is effective even when slot size is zero. I'd say that a chance for artillery spotting is better than no chance at all and besides that, you lose nothing compared to an SPF.

Wikia used to have something about HQ levels in the description of that map, removed it for some reason. From wiki (http://en.kancollewiki.net/wiki/World_6#World_6-4:_Central_Northern_Offshore_Sea_of_Peacock_Island)) I see that only one composition becomes impossible after a certain HQ level, and it's not even one of the ones with lowest AS requirement. Among the 6-ship ones, most of them still have 72 AS requirement. Neither article says anything about it being biased a certain way, so it's still only 1/5 chance for high FP comp if we take that each one has a uniform chance of appearing.

I went and play it myself. Had to ask the clerk, who didn't know a jabber of English but she managed to teach the basics.
This may seem a lot to know, but it's pretty simple.
You provide 100 yen coins which give you a certain amount of GP. Select your starter, same ones as in the browser. The machine will print you a card with the starter and direct you to put it in the card slot, and you're set.
You pay GP to play a map, let's say 1-1.
While playing, you have access to a wheel rudder, which of course determines your direction, and a speed lever that goes from 1/4 to full speed. On the game, you have a map that points you to the boss under fog of war, and enemy fleets will try to intercept you.
During battle, you use the controls to maneuver the fleet, speed up or slow down as required. You'll see circles appear on the sea that get gradually bigger, this is the enemy's shot. Get out of the circle before it becomes completely full, or you'll be hit. You also have plenty of indication when the enemy tosses torpedoes at you, so dodge as required.
To attack, you have just one button to fire. Wait for the reticle to reach the most inner circle and then fire, this ensures a shelling critical hit. You can also switch between weapons:
- to use torpedoes, you tap on the screen to select them, then tap on the game window to point a trajectory. Give some headstart for the direction the enemy is going, and fire.
- to use secondaries, just select them and mash on the button as you please. You need to be close for this.
You have a set amount of time to defeat the boss. If you fail, you can go into night battle. Timer is really short in yasen so better not miss.
Should also be noted that you have formations as well, but they differ in the sense that you have to actually position yourself instead of just "Use this formation" like the browser. Crossing the enemy's T by sailing in front of them while full broadside is the most desirable one, for obvious reasons.
Once you sink the boss, you have the option to pay an additional 100 yen to get a drop (the game doesn't tell you what it is until you've paid). The machine will print a card with the ship you got, and you can then include that in the card slot too.

To save progress, you need an account on some webservice that you sign into your phone. Then you just point the phone at the machine with the app open and it will pick up from where you left off. This is conjecture on my part since I never got that far, but I did see nip players pointing their phone at the machine and then whipping out a card box with all their rares and insert and remove ships as they required.

KCA wasn't really impressive in term of graphics, but most nips were really satisfied with the animation and the general flow of the game.

FGOA is definitely on the meh side, with its half baked assets and very slow pace. It doesn't feel like you are using heroes, but regular combatants most of the time.

But as usual, the biggest issue is the fact the game is as expensive as the mobage. In fact, most nips don't get how it could be way more expensive than KCA to begin with.

Something else they did is that cards have variations. You have the normal cards and then you have silver/gold/rainbow holographic versions along with damaged holo versions as rare drops. Just to give you an idea why FGOA is that more expensive than KCA:

In KCA, you use 1 credit to start the game with 300GP, 1 credit for extra GP (300 per credit, number fixed by the arcade center), 1 credit for a girl drop or construction.

In FGOA, it is the same, except that instead of construction, you have the 10 pulls which require 10 credits.
At first glance, this looks "less expensive" than the mobage since it is 1000 JPY for 10 pulls, not 3000, and unlike the normal pull, you don't have to finish a quest. The catch is that you need 2500 saint crystal powder for this.

Saint crystal are only obtained after clearing a quest in 2 fashion 1) reward for the said quest 2) any GP consumption is automatically converted into powder.

So you can't really whale in a single go to limit your expense: you gotta grind the game for the 10 draws. And you can only do 5 10 pulls per month with a given account.

So yeah, at some point, you see nips camping an arcade center for a whole day, and even then, they get nothing to show.

GBF can't really compete with FGO for several reasons:
