Hey, /jp/. Comiket's coming up in a few weeks! Anyone going? Want to die of heatstroke? What are you looking forward to? Any music or doujin you're anticipating to download?

>> No.19486870

It's my first comiket and I am trying to find out which days are themed around what.

And can I buy a guide from a store in Akiba already? I'm going to land there by the end of this week.

>> No.19486935

>>19486870
First day is Fateshit/2hu/boatsluts/music
Second day is tanks/friends/military/gay/idols/anime
Third is mostly OG porn

Yes, you can buy the catalog at Akiba or any doujin stores near you.

Another comiket I can't attend...

At least I have booked flights and hotel for C95. Hope the days are the regular 29-31 like past years.

How big budget do people usually have for comiket and how early do you go to lineup at morning to get inside as fast as possible? My hotel will be close Big Sight so arriving early shouldn't be a problem and i was thinking about 500€ as a minimum budget.

>> No.19489619

What circles' stands should I go first to ensure they don't sell out before I can get to them? Big circles like SOUND HOLIC will probably have so many copies that they don't run out of material, but smaller and one person circles are more suspectible to this?

>> No.19489724

Im planning on taking £1000 but not just for comiket, im going for 9 days and it's my first time going to Japan so im a little confused

Apparently it's best to get the first train which is about 5am so 5 hours standing in line in 39 degree heat

Also what portable WiFi company should I go with? I was thinking SoftBank for speed and data allowance, anyone got any links to decent ones I can pick up from Haneda airport

>> No.19489885

>>19489724

Personally I'm going for 2 weeks and 2400€ saved for the trip, with 500 reserved for comiket. I still want to afford to eat like a king every day and to not have to think about budget limitations when I visit Akiba.

What's your luggage allowance? Mines 30kg and im worried im gonna go over it if I buy too many doujin as they weigh a lot and I plan to buy some of the 300 page doujin from shops

Yeah, try to be at around 2-3pm. We try to leave at around 4pm so as not to join the crowded trains. Unless you'll be out shopping until Comiket closes.

I'm more worried over what doujin content is allowed to be brought back home, even though I should have nothing to fear since I don't like loli and I'm not from UK/Canada. Think the weight limit is 25kg here, but that's fairly irrelevant. You'd need hundreds of doujins to fear hitting the limit and you can always put them in your hand luggage/backpack.

But different days have different audiences. The resellers and gophers always at day 3 and queuing before the first train for the A-booth circles (they take taxi or got hotel in walking distance), so the line has to be longer.

Day 2, women aren't queuing en masse like the men, their porn will eventually end up in otome road anyway. Consider it the calm before the storm.

Make a gameplan of circles that you want to hit, and try to figure out which ones will be popular that may sell out. Any "big name" is going to have huge lines for their premium sets starting right at the start of the day (or before!) so you have to prioritize those if you want them. Same with super exclusive merch at company booths.

After you get stuff like that, I'd recommend looking through the aisles of each circle that you're interested in. You don't have the time to look at each and every booth, but you should check out the things near things you like at least.

>Although the outcome of this case is ultimately positive, comic book readers should be aware that there are still dangers for traveling with comics in Canada. Edelson says, “Aside from the very positive outcome to this story, your members should be cautioned concerning the search and seizure regime here in Canada exercised by the Canadian Border Services Agency. Moreover, they should also be aware that although anime and manga is legal in many areas of the United States and Japan, etc., to possess and utilize, the Canadian authorities may take a different view if this material is found on any laptops or mobile devices when you enter the country.

There was also a Canadian /jp/sie who got arrested and probation (I think) along with his name in the news because he imported a loli onahole

To repeat what an anon said last comiket, you pulled the trigger on an empty chamber. Depends on what you want to buy, you should have a very good idea on these "fixed" costs. And then it all depends on how much of an impulse buyer you are and how much you WANT to spend on stuff that you clearly haven't heard of but looks appealing to you.

Last time, I saw "sold out" signs around 12:30. It's hard to say, though; a famous circle will have tons of customers but also lots of prints, as the demand is expected. A lesser known circle only has little supply, but also little demand. The worst is a developing trend that is missed by most circles, the few who catered to it will have their stuff torn from their hands unexpectedly.
So, yeah. In short: nobody knows.

I'm also a first timer Gaijin, how do I find out what a circle is actually selling at their booth? I'm told that the reason people queue so early is for comiket exclusive bonus items but I can't really find any info on this. There are several popular artists with outer wall booths that I would like to go see but I've read that queuing for more than one of those is a bad idea.

Basically, how many booths would I realistically be able to visit on the sunday? I have artists in both halls of varying degrees of popularity that I want to buy from but I want to be realistic.

Also, I plan to visit the corporate booths in the west hall on saturday, do the corporate booths change what they sell each day or is it the same?

It is. Look for artists in the center that will not have their stuff on melonbooks immediately after.

Corporate booths rarely restock between each day if that's what you're asking.

All this shit about not meeting at the saw is understandable, but meeting everyone there is pretty cool and you'll be able to distinguish the autistics from the normal people just by talking to them.
If this is your first time I totally recommend going.
I've met some of my current best friends by going there.
There's a few things I recommend after many times.
No matter what, skip karaoke with the big group, unless you want to see some peak autism, pay 5k and not even get to sing, stick with something smaller for a group of 5 after the nomikai. Be careful who you choose to hang out with, one example is C91 one of these autist that I marked early sexually harassed a girl at mogras new year event and the ones that hanged out with him got kicked out as well, they all missed crucified Evangelion.
For the dumbest people, don't forget to charge your suica.

You're kinda limited in what you can do when you're with a bunch of gaijins with mixed experience/japanese-ability.

>Fumble around like 30 minutes around the big saw and discuss whether you want to leave now or wait for others to come
>Finally one of the usual guys that actually speaks nip calls Kin no Kura to reserve for 10-30 gaijins
Select from below if you go with the "big" group:
<Maid Cafe> (DO NOT RECOMMEND)
<Even more drinking at HUB>
<Karaoke>
<Mess around in Akiba/drink at shrines>

It's not really anything special if you've done it a few times before, but it's probably worth trying it at least once as long as you don't get a shitty group.

Also
>>19609862
>No matter what, skip karaoke with the big group, unless you want to see some peak autism, pay 5k and not even get to sing,
Don't go to Karaoke if you can't read nipponese or at least sing the really famous/memey ones that always get picked, obviously. There's almost always at least a second smaller group, but they're not necessarily newbie friendly since I think those tend to have more people that live in Japan than random tourists.

In any case, it's pretty easy to spot the regulars. Just ask if you really don't know wtf you're doing. As far as I know there are a few /pol/, trad-/jp/ (shitposting flavor), hardcore-comiket-/jp/ chat groups on LINE and discord. I really don't know what /pol/ is doing, though.
