So /jp/ I just finished downloading and installing Tsukihime which route should I go for first?

>> No.1944132

Arc

>> No.1944143

If you want to go for story progression of each tier separately, Arc -> Ciel -> Akiha or Hisui -> Kohaku

Ciel should be gotten out of the way so that you're not left wondering about anything Near Side related. Kohaku should always be last.

>> No.1944137

Kohaku. Don't listen to the trolls who tell you to do Arc or Ciel first.

Arc -> Ciel -> Akiha -> Hisui -> Kohaku is the recommended order. People will tell you that Kohaku's route should always be played last, and they're very very right, but you should make sure that Hisui's is also 2nd to last because Hisui's ties into Kohaku's a LOT. With Arc, Ciel, and Akiha it doesn't actually matter all that much what order you do them in, except for obviously you can't play Akiha for your first.

Also, all of the routes are good. /jp/ has no taste at all.

Play them in whatever order you want (within the restrictions of the game). It really won't affect your overall enjoyment of the game. I promise.

I disagree, I read Ciel after Kohaku and it was a big let down. Kohaku's ending feels more like an overall ending.

>Arc -> Ciel -> Akiha -> Hisui -> Kohaku

This is the best order to play them. It won't make as much sense otherwise.

Not that it'll make sense this way.

THIS AIN'T A PROBLEM WITH KOHAKU, THOUGH, 'CAUSE SHE'S AS BARREN AS A SALTED DESERT

SHE HAS LESS EGGS THAN KING HENRY'S FIRST FIVE WIVES

HER VAGINA IS LIKE A NAZI CONCENTRATION CAMP, AND THE SPERM ARE THE JEWS

WHEN JESUS SPOKE OF SEED FALLING ON THE ROCKS HE WAS TALKING ABOUT KOHAKU

SHE ALWAYS MAKES DINNER BECAUSE THAT'S THE ONLY TIME SHE CAN HAVE SOMETHING BAKING IN HER OVER

ORIGINALLY NASU WANTED HER TO SPEAK ONLY IN ELLIPSIS, BUT HE COULDN'T BECAUSE THE GIRL DIDN'T HAVE ANY PERIODS

I also played Ciel's route last but it didn't bother me. I tend to view each route of a visual novel as it's own self contained story though. F/SN is the closest thing to an exception, but even then I think each route works as a stand alone story.

I had a dream were all routes were on the same reality.

First Arc and Ciel up to Nero.
'twas mostly arc, but it had Ciel bits (You help her on the school's garden, she's the one who helps you after you cut Arcueid, She heals you after killing Nero)
After finishing with Chaos, Arcueid leaves and Hisui Good route follows. Although Shiki doesn't openly fall in love with her.
Just after SHIKI is 'killed' (he escapes) Arcueid returns and it's her route up to the final battle, where ROA is killed and Arc goes rampant (Ciel's route, true end bit)
Afterwards, Kohaku route. Even when her plan was already discovered, she follows it because she doesn't know what else to do. Akiha absorbs SHIKI and turns into a red-haired bitch. Shiki and Kohaku manage to stop her without (too much) bloodshed and she uses her will to suppress SHIKI's influence. Though, in the long run, she fails and Akiha True goes on and it's the end.

Of course, Ciel heals Shiki and he returns to Japan later on(KT) but that's another story.

Suddenly, the sheets tightened around me and I was straddled by someone. Then, I saw a figure with a knife smiling while preparing to stab me in the heart.

Then I woke up.

Why the hell would anyone put off the worst for last? How do you get the motivation to actually finish the thing?

I played it Arc - Ciel - Akiha - Hisui - Kohaku and enjoyed it all the way through plus there weren't any points where something didn't make sense. I'm pretty sure this was the order the game was intended to be played in.

I still like the routes of my least favorite characters, and in fact after playing through the route I usually end up liking the heroine at least a little bit. I have yet to play a visual novel with some good routes and some bad routes, usually the whole thing is either good or bad.
