Right lads, just got finished reading Bansenjin, and Senshinkan as a whole. I'll say it, I liked it better than Dies Irae. Fights were better, "story" was good, characters were great all around the board, with the exception of Yoshiya Though I didn't mind him too much.. Protagonists and Antagonists were great, Karuma and Amakasu were top fucking notch. Shizuno and Nanten were some of the best heroines I've been exposed to, the latter being really good.

Finished 4 routes of Dracuriot, first Yuzusoft game. A bit longish review. Anyway before that I'd like to ask if I should skip the after stories as I played the Mera and Azusa ones and they left bad aftertastes in the end.

I enjoyed most of the game. Also don't think I ever felt bored, so that's great. I really like this thing in a VN, if it is fun to play, has good girls and good underlying plot. For me, the Rio and Mera routes were best. They also seemed like main routes, so it's not like Miu is the main heroine? I'm also a sucker for girls like Rio, so the homely + 純情 + cute + dere-dere part hit me hard. Though strangely I don't recall many characters like that, though a lot of tsundere characters share similar traits. Maybe nips have different tastes.

There were some negatives though. The protag apologizes a bit much and sometimes (not that many though) makes stupid decisions like going out by himself in Rio route. Miu route especially gets a bit irritating and he appears a bit subbed. But it was still very fun. Also having read 2 after-stories, they leave a bit bad taste. Particularly the Mera one implied you're gonna get ass fucked. Why'd you write that? Also, I didn't like how they used porn and Erina for Azusa, and Erina for Rio. But thankfully it didn't turn out to anything bad in Rio's case. The cosplay joke was a bit over too.

I'd further like to read Yuzusoft games if they are enjoyable and have a good plot like this though I'd like a more proactive and intelligent protag, and would do good without some of the things like with Miu.

That's just a problem with the writer. I'd gotten the same feeling while playing Akeiro. Game felt incredibly slow paced and led to underwhelming climaxes that I got burnt out each time I finished a route. Didn't really have the same problem with Nanairo as that game was pretty short if you only do the main route.

When training units in Aselia should I only use the best trainers I have? I'm barely surviving chapter 3 because nobody is getting really good defense skills. My experience with srpgs is mostly limited to SRW games and I really suck at anything harder.

I think you can survive chapter this early just by abusing Esperia as a defender.
Basic combat in Aselia is easy, you keep green spirit as a defender, red one as a support and blue one as an attacker. If enemy has red support, you swap your attacker and support and choose banish skill for your blue support. Sometimes you can let blue be a defender and green - a support, to get some healing.
Hard strategy parts come from the fact that you can't just make all your teams this way - you don't have enough green spirits, and from the fact that your abilities have number of usages, so you need to make suboptimal formations for easy fights.

I get to this part where the enemy is baiting me into defeating the normal squads so the elite ones can engage me into continuous battles on their turn. They last one is especially hard to deal with and even Esperia can't survive many hits. So far I've managed to wipe out all 3 of them only once by sacrificing one spirit and putting Aselia into combat position and Yuuto as a defender. I'm not sure that I should actually have Aselia fight because I'm going for her ending and I'm right after the part where they went back to Earth, so she's a zombie right now

Bring multiple squads, so you can alternate between them when enemy attacks. That specific fight on your pic should be fought only when you can banish enemy cast, so Aselia, or some other blue spirit is a must. Since enemy is red, he doesn't do much damage with melee attack, so you can use Yuuto as a defender, and Esperia as an attacker (she has surprisingly good damage), or the other way around. And you probably shouldn't use black spirits at all. They have less damage than blue ones, supporting through banish is not needed, as Yuuto can also do it, but he actually buffs your party, and the fact that they can deal damage while being defenders is actually useless, as they die too easy.

P.S.: Best squad is actually Yuuto + Aselia + Esperia, followed by Aselia + Esperia + Orpha. Such squad can manage pretty much anything, and when you need to get through multiple fights in a row, you just bring second squad that has whatever to do easier fights (when enemy doesn't have red spirits.
