Finished Kamome's route and it was pretty good, and quite different in tone from Ao's route in that it felt much more like Key's traditional style of story telling. Second half was very touching and heartfelt with many feels, while being not as dramatic as Ao's.

No where near as being on the same level as Clannad or even LB in my opinion. The game overall is short, with only 4 character routes on top of that. There is no equivalent to Sunohara, or the male friends in LB.
The game also really suffers from having virtually no common route. You know next to nothing of any of the characters until you actually go on their routes. Personally I find it hard to build attachments to characters when you're only briefly introduced to them before being given their sob story. The girl's stories as well mostly feel recycled from other key games. The game doesn't feel like it is trying anything new. The protagonist as well has to be the most characterless bland dude from any Key game I've played. There is more I could go on about, but you get the point.
That being said, it is a decent charage, it just doesn't really stand up next to the other Key titles. It's not long, so if some of the girls are your type give it a go. If you don't go in with super high expectations you'll probably enjoy it.

I'll be more specific about the "decline" so I can take into account Rewrite. I think that Key peaked with Clannad, which was a synthesis of the supernatural high school story of Kanon with the adult parenthood drama of Air, creating something superior to both of them. Little Busters is a degeneration backwards away from adult problems and real-life consequences (I am being brief and have more issues with Little Busters than just this). Rewrite is something different, so I'm not sure how I should fit it into this paradigm, but I enjoyed it greatly and I wish Key had continued to try new things. But Angels Beats is a similar degeneration as Little Busters, Harmonia is a knock-off of Planetarian (but with a consequence-free ending like Little Busters), and Summer Pockets seems to be what I said about it earlier.

Finished Tsumugi's route. That was beautiful, almost as good as Kamome's route. It felt like a better, more polished version of a couple of the routes from Kanon. Shizuku's inclusion was great and the interactions being mostly 3 people instead of just 1-on-1 kept the route from feeling too monotonous.

Just finished Tsumugi's route as well and I feel the same way, very beautiful story. I went in thinking it was going to be a meme girl route (like guruguru shiro) but she is actually very endearing and grows on you. Romance was developed substantially as well and the group dynamic made the route feel more involved than Ao or Kamome where its mainly just you and the heroine. Noticed a few nods to Kamome and Ao route which were a nice touch.

Normally I don't comment much on this but it stood out and felt like production value wise, Tsumugi route was a step above Ao and Kamome. She has the best sprites and varied expressions, multiple outfits and CG variations which were very impactful in climatic parts and her own insert song. Although as a whole, I still feel the routes so far are lacking CGs, could have used a few more each.

Officially a mugyu fan now. Hope Shiroha route will be as good.

The table tennis minigame in Sumpock has a big flaw. Whenever they show Tenzen or Hairi on the screen with a flashy background like here, the background covers up the image of the ping pong board (along with the buttons you have to hit to play the game). Tenzen serves the ball really early before the background even disappears so it's unreasonably difficult if not sometimes impossible to react fast enough to hit that serve on time because the ball is halfway through the serve by the time you can see the game UI clearly.

I found a fairly reliable way, basically it always goes for your highest color one (unless it's ready for a special shot). If two are the same, it goes for the remaining one. Also yellows have priority over everything else for some reason.

Yeah its definitely an improvement from their previous games. The minigames probably also took up too much of their resources I'd think. It throws me off when things like descriptions of backgrounds don't at least somewhat match the visuals, like when they mention Tsumugi's doll collection but you don't actually see them in the background where they're supposed to be.

Mugyu fan here, just finished Shiroha route as the last of the main routes and it does feel less 'complete' than the other routes as it brings up some interesting plot points which will probably lead into the later parts.

Well. Kinkoi's final route sure betrayed my expectations. 80% of the way through the game I was still wondering why this got the attention that it did, but at least I understand now, even though I don't fully agree with it.
That said, Ria's hospital scenes reminded me so much of me watching my mom pass away right in front of me in a hospital room not unlike hers that I couldn't help but cry like a little bitch. You got me Kinkoi, you got me.

Finished Alka and Pocket. I like it. Shorter than Key's previous games and little filler. I never bothered with the mini-game. Felt like the first four routes was just something to know what's going on and a bit of world-building. The changes too for each route clear gave me that feel that I was in for a ride. I do kinda feel bad for each heroines and their problem not solved in the true end. Instead, they were just used for happy memories to show at the end. We can probably expect FDs for the next 2 years or so. Gonna try Radio Pigeon trial next.
