Has anyone else noticed that return the last song on caps lock has a very similar melody to negai the last song on triangle. Do you think nakata was trying to say something with this. The melodies I'm talking about happen in both choruses. To me CAPS LOCK is an album by which nakata is trying to stray away from his typical pop sound. Trying something new, experimental. Maybe he was frustrated that he's been making similat music for years now and this was his way out. He even rebranded capsule as CAPSULE and said he had been wanting to do that for a while. I find it interesting that the last song on CAPS LOCK is called RETURN and even more that it has a very similar melody to negai, a perfume song. Like, at the end of the day he has to return to the pop world or something. The song feels quite sad and a little haunting. Melancholic.

nocchi has aways been close second for me but A~chan motivated me, I worked out, I learned Japanese everyday, I worked and I went to uni. just the energy and the charisma A~chan had. but then shill chan went into full force and she lost her charm. It isn't about their music getting boring. I don't think I'll ever get tired of nakata's music. At least the good stuff in my opinion. Ageing should not have nothing to do with it unless you were only into them for their looks. I don't like that. I think I just set my standards for nakata's music and perfume, pretty high. Well The next night, I start watching sweet refrain, then cling cling, then pick me up, then relax in the city. And realizing something was off. It didn't really feel like perfume anymore. And when the star train teaser came I was really getting nervous. But the thing that finally made me snap was flash. I remember everyone on tumblr being like, "omg nakata's done it again, he made a masterpiece, he's back". They were all praising it so much. Like no this still isn't perfume. This isn't that interesting. This is a zedd rippoff. Don't you guys realize you deserve more from nakata. Idk after I started masturbating to them that special happy perfume feeling went away even faster. I've been wanting to say these things for so long but never had the guts to post any where. I agree with a lot of what you said. Flash was also the point where it cross over the borderline to generic EDM. In my head I see Flash a significant turning point for Perfume. I get the feeling Nakata right now is just making music that he perceives will get him too the big music festivals. Most recently hopping on to the future bass trend (and prior to that the topical house trend). As of right now he is trying to promote himself more than anything. I feel he has still got 'it' and he is just choosing to conform to the latest trends. Yeah said is pretty much in the same boat as nakata. Incredible amounts of knowledge but still are at place where they just want to make radio pop hits. If you like electro I definitely recommend giving both zedd and madeon a try. Try listening to zedds earlier stuff. If you like polyrhythm then give zedd-spectrum (the extended mix) a listen. There's similarities in sound and style and melody but the chords in spectrum really stand out to me. They're not really poppy. It's a longer drawn out chord profession than usual but it gives me very spacey cold theme. Madeon is just amazing. I think anyone that likes nakata's 2007 - 10 music will love him.

If you were really into nakata's bassier sound breakin a sweat (zedd remix) is cool. Checking out zedds two albums clarity and true colors would also be good although the tracks in there come down to personal taste.
