The "real" Suika can't be described so much in pictures as in words.

In many ways, Suika is an alternate version of Yukari. The two of them are both ridiculously overpowered and intelligent as hell, but have entirely different personalities. While Yukari is all JUST AS PLANNED - ALL THE TIME, Suika isn't much of a schemer. While it shows between the lines Suika could easily be very sinister if she just wanted to, there isn't a hint of it in what she actually does honestly.
Just like how mercy can sometimes be a better display of power than brutality, Suika's inaction is perhaps what gives the most depth to her character (well, not that most touhous are very deep characters, but anyway...). She's an insanely powerful character that somehow isn't tempted by her own power at all; she just enjoys life the most messing around and being a little adorable drunk girl.

Sure.
If there's such a thing as a character biography for Suika, she was probably around back in the "spirits of thunder and darkness" days. The modern Japanese image of oni as horned ogres is relatively recent, only a couple of hundred years old if I recall right.

Speaking of which, is there anyone who actually has a firm idea what Yuugi's ability does?

Her sake does drop, don't even think about it.

>> No.1932933

>>1932832
Don't know.

I like to think that it's nearly useless in every way though, only controlling small things that are typically associated with things that go bump in the night. After all, she is an oni, and oni like to cause commotion.

Splitting chopsticks in a seemingly impossible way? Terrible odor coming from nowhere? Tripping on nothing at all? The coffee manages to stay scalding hot for ten minutes, so you have to wait that whole time just for it to be drinkable?

If you're in the Ancient City and any of these things occur to you, it may be Yuugi messing with your shit to provoke you.

And of course, because of
>Attacks relying on physical strength are not to be repeated.
>- If all your named spells are defeated, you are defeated, regardless of your remaining strength.
and the general uselessness of her ability, she's not much for danmaku, but she can still respect someone that specializes in that aspect. I'd imagine that the oni don't truly care quite as much for the spellcard rules, and often get in physical brawls in the city. That's where Yuugi shines the best. That's why she'd never follow Suika to the surface.

The sake staying in the bowl is not a supernatural phenomenon. That's just how badass she is.

>- If all your named spells are defeated, you are defeated, regardless of your remaining strength.
You know, given this rule I should think that the less powerful youkai would just go about making an inane number of spellcards for the sake of staying alive longer, hoping that the enemy runs out of stamina or that they get lucky. Of course, if Zun implemented that, it would be some of the most annoying shit ever. Stage 1 boss with 50 spell cards?

>> No.1932974

>>1932960
Well, if you have no strength left, you're also pretty much defeated. I don't think it would help much, it would just make the battles a bit longer.

>> No.1933015

>>1932974
Yeah and don't forget the enemy's still shooting you the entire time, so that can get problematic.

Danmaku doesn't kill, but it must sting like getting hit with a nearly endless stream of dodgeballs.

Man imagine that, thousands of balls slapping you in the face for what must seem like forever.

Thousands of balls.

slappin you in the face.
