First being that KC plans to do a book of important figures and deities in the far future and likely doesn't want to spoil stuff, the second being that he intentionally keeps things vague. A lot of this is explained to some degree:

1. Its stated she was an exceptional succubus to begin with, more powerful than all the others.
2. Its implied she used persuasion and diplomacy as much as fighting power to attain the position of Mamono Lord (there was no large scale monster slaughter involved).
3. There are rumors that a few gods helped her in various ways (perhaps they were sympathetic to her cause).
4. Manipulating the settings of the world was indeed beyond her even when she gained the status and powers of the Mamono Lord. However, she was able to do it thanks to the Chief God being inexperienced (presumably meaning that she didn't keep as tight a hold on the settings as she should have) combined with a great many other monsters voluntarily giving her their power.

There are some logical ideas we can make about this. Namely that the Order worships the Chief God. Being the leader of the gods and the most powerful one its logical that she would demand humans treat her as their primary god as well. Keep in mind the gods of the MGE world do communicate both directly and indirectly with humans.

The settings books also clarify that worship of other gods is considered in effect worship of the Chief God (provided said other gods are loyal to the Chief God).

To me the Demon Lord's husband is just a JRPG main character who sided with the final boss instead of defeating it, there isn't much there. If anything it can inspire you to have your own fantasy about becoming a JRPG MC who goes on to marry a Lilim.
