SPICY WOLF

>> No.1927989

First is the Hokkaido wolf.

It's nothing special, just your ordinary gray wolf that lived in Japan. They became extinct by 1889.

>> No.1928001

Now the Honshu Wolf, it was a special wolf.

It was very small, just over a foot in height. Became extinct in 1905.

Out of the 2 wolves, the Honshu holds a special place in my heart.

The Japanese Wolf(Honshu and Hokkaido) were very important in Japanese culture. It was very well respected, there are countless shrines in Japan, just dedicated the wolves. Unlike Europeans who despised wolves for eating their livestocks, the Japanese believed the Wolf protected their crops.

The Wolf eats the deer and rabbits that would ruin the farmers crops.

(Picture is not a Japanese wolf.)
