yes. steampunk series are comprised of independent stories set in the same world. there are very few references to the past games though there are general elements common in all of them such as being set in the industrial era but they have more advanced steam engine technology that caused the skies to be gray and sometimes distorts their world.
the stories are also written poetically but involves lots of repetition for style.

Those checks are actually pretty simple, they're all documented API. If they weren't using any API, for example scanning system files, locale.nls or someshit now that would be interesting.

It's probably the third one (I was able to pass first ones correctly setting up stuff in control panel and rebooting - it won't change until reboot). Maybe it only returns the right value on original Japanese windows no matter the UI language.

So i'm reading through Tokyo Necro right now, and Juichirou is genuinely one of my least favorite villains i've read in media recently. He's just so fucking boring, and his motivations to turn everyone into machines/a single entity/whatever instead of being actual physical beings is so goddamn stupid. Milgram is such a better villain, and I can't believe that they're even in the same game, the difference in characterization that they have. It feels like every time he appears in a scene, I just want him to leave or the scene to be over. Almost everything so far having to deal with The Fortress when it involves him is just so bad

Tokyo Necro anon here again, i'm currently in Kiriri's route and i'm both extremely surprised and extremely confused. So as they're leaving the megafloat, Souun out of the blue aims his gun at Sofia and shoots her, and he's not sure why he did it himself. But when we switch to Ethica's perspective, he tells her that it must have been a bullet from a survivor behind them, and she believes it. This just seems extremely weird to me, why did Ethica, Kiriri, AND Kagekutsu all see him aim the gun at her and fire, and yet none of them are acting like he did it himself? Ended Casablanca, quite a good game desu, as a fd is a lot more lighthearted but it has its moments nevertheless.
