The problem with Kemono Friends as a media-mix project is this that other than the anime, all the official media mix material is only consumed by traitors* and among the fan material only fanart continues to come out at a constant pace. But there's only so much you can say about most fanart.

Doujinshi is confined to Comiket (which is only twice a year) and small KF doujin events (which nobody uploads anything from) and fan videos are being kept alive solely by NABY on one hand and those Jaguar meme songs entirely impenetrable to gaijin on the other. I guess you could use this thread to keep tabs on fan comics and some of the collabs if the people who track those haven't all ditched for other sites. I think people still like zoos and Garden.

This is actually not true. Jikou Schema sold a shitton but that's only because it was the Kemono Friends ED at the time KF was hot. PPP in the Sky has already outranked Risky Shift and will probably sell for longer. Personally I feel like Boku no Friend was a one-hit wonder, I have both CDs and in my assessment it's by far the best song on both CDs.

But this is still because PPP is a "character unit" like the Nanamori Amusement Club. It's not like IM@S and LL where people actually care about the seiyuu unit in 3D as well as 2D. "KF seiyuu" include everyone from Maaya and Rie, the likes of whom KF is a blip on the radar, to complete newcomers like Kyouka (Gentoo) and Kana (Fennec) who literally cannot find work because they keep failing auditions. Well when i said to pay closer attention i was referring to her noticable lack of merch. she still has some, it's just few and far between. a couple of plushies, a couple of figs, a cupoche, a nendo, beer glasses. it's almost nonexistant. i remember the kemono friends cafe last summer took until august to even roll out kaban beer steins and pint glasses. If i was a betting man, which i am, i would say all the kaban merch will increase in value exponentially in the next few years. not the nendo or the figma, but all the other stuff.

They're going for a gotta catch 'em all collection with the trading figs that's for sure. In part that's because they're just continuing from the Nexon game set that predates the anime but it does seem odd that they haven't tried to include Kaban, Mirai, or Kako, especially when they have a child audience who might use them for play. For an anime character having both a standard Nendo and figma is good, and the plush selection they're still making releases for is a great added bonus. Characters from other franchises I follow are lucky to have a couple generic bochi keyrings and a tshirt.
