19051366 No.19051366 [Reply] [Original]

The usual thread for the VN announcements at Anime Central. The schedule for panels with announcements looks to be as follows

MangaGamer - Friday 9:45PM
Sekai Project - Sunday 2:00PM

>> No.19051970

no one cares

>> No.19053150

>>19051970
Waiting.

>> No.19053364

>>19051366
Wonder if the Mangagamer announcement is Luckydog1. It would fit the 'New Partner' title and its obvious by now that its coming.

>> No.19053583

>>19053364
The fact that the translator for that game hasn't taken their translation offline yet and in fact updated it recently makes me think MG isn't even bringing that over.

>> No.19053603

Any stream links out of curiosity?

>>19053364
It would be announced AX or maybe Otakon, not Anime Central.

>> No.19053623

voices
language
steam
otome
yuri
sorcery
jokers
lucky
sakura

These are all the clues. Unless there's another yuri or otome announcement this year, then those took up 2 clues each for Steam Prison and Full Chorus of Kindred Spirits.

>> No.19053663

>>19053623
Full Chorus probably refers to the voices clue. Yuri is a prevalent enough niche that I think MG wants to announce one every year, even if the yuri fanbase isn't quite as strong as the BL fanbase. I also think that the steam hint refers to Steam Prison rather than otome. Otome could be referring to a game like Otoboku 2 rather than the genre itself.

>> No.19053909

>>19051366
That time is east coast?

>> No.19053984

>>19053909
CDT, one hour before Eastern.

It's about 9:50 there so it recently started. The announcements will probably in about 30 or 45 minutes.

>> No.19054495

Shit.

>> No.19054513

>>19054495
Good announcements are at AX and Otakon.

>> No.19054524

>>19054487
Nice for funbag fags. I was actually curious about that yuri title. It's probably not good, but hey yuri incest.

>> No.19054532

>>19054524
The yuri title also has some yandere elements.

>> No.19054533

>>19054487
I'm actually happy with both announcements, that's weird for a little con like this one.

>> No.19054603

>>19053623

So with this announcements we cover the "yuri" hint i think and if they yurifags are right the "language" clue is for Kotonoha Amrilato.

So for sure the "steam" (steam prison) and "otome" hints are for separated VNs. That was clear before but it's good to have a confirmation.

>> No.19054624

I really doubt we'll get Kotonoha Amrilato since MG technically announced 2 yuri titles already.

And Steam Prison isn't clear which hint it counted for, steam or otome.

>> No.19054687

Min naraken being announced for AX means that Oyako Rankan is pretty likely. Two other titles where he was the main artist are Toushin Toshi III and Blade Briders, but no one wants the former while the latter is more niche than Oyako because it appeals to /m/.

He is also a side artist for many titles, so Daiteikoku or some other AS title is a possibility.

>>19054624
Yeah, I don't think Kotonoha is likely either. I'm honestly just happy with this yuri title. I wonder what language could refer to.

>>19054532
Damn it, now I have to buy this VN.

>> No.19054710

>>19054624
I mean, if the "voice" hint was for Kindred Spirits Full Chorus and the "yuri" was for Sisterly Bliss (TsuiYuri in japanese) we have two separated VN, so i think is safe to assume that "steam" is for Steam Prison and the "otome" hint is for another title, even if Steam Prison could cover any of that hints or both.

And I don't know anon, Kotonoha seems so far the general consensus on that "language" hint, but you can say what you think it means, of course.

>> No.19054747

>>19054710
Language could also refer to any game they bring over with dual language.

It could still be Kotonoha Amrilato, but I wouldn't be so sure of it because MG announcing 3 yuri titles in one year is pretty much unheard of.

>> No.19054992

>>19054747
I, for one, welcome our new yuri overlords.

>> No.19055673

>>19054747
The hints so far can all be tied to the title to the announced work

Steam - Steam Prison
Yuri - Tsui Yuri
Voices - Kindred Spirits Full Chorus (a bit of a a stretch admittedly)

Sakura would tie into the title if it were referring to Sakura Mori Dreamers. Same goes for Otome if it referred to something like Otoboku, and lucky if it refers to Luckydog1. That leaves language (and maybe both Sorcery and Jokers).

>> No.19056776

No bayoab transcript?

>> No.19057665

>>19055673
I really doubt they'd announce the Otoboku sequel. It's very old by this point and the original wasn't particularly popular. It admittedly did get a hardcopy, but that was back when MG's sales numbers were much lower than they are now.

Luckydog1 also seems unlikely since the fan translator still has all her work up publicly for free and hasn't taken it down at all.

>> No.19058300

>>19056776
Bayoab typically only shows up at AX, although a transcript is less important in a case like this where we get an actual stream of the panel.

>> No.19061589

>>19054487
With Kyonyuu Fantasy 2 already 57% translated/50% edited, MG obviously picked it up well before the end of March release of Gaiden.

>> No.19061597

>>19061589
The first title must've really sold well, so they wanted to keep it going.

>> No.19062666

>>19057665
Otoboku seems like it could do better in the current scene than when it was released. Although, it might just be trap fascination rather than trap protagonists.

Personally, if it's not Otoboku, at least something from Ensemble's Otome series or Otome Domain, preferably the latter.

>> No.19064470

I hope Sekai announces a release date for a title in their backlog. Feels like they haven't released anything anyone cares about since Leyline.

>> No.19064564

>>19064470
SP seems to focus most of their staff on meme visual novels instead of titles that they picked up almost 3 years ago.
Neko-nin exHeart 2, Creature Romance and so on.
That means Koikuma will most likely be next, after they make the all ages version from it.

My Girlfriend is a Mermaid!?
Developer: TALESShop/COSEN

>My Girlfriend is a Mermaid!? is the first new release specifically targeting the Nintendo Switch™ platform. This version features enhancements over the original, mobile version including new scenario content, Live2D animation and a new opening theme sung by the three main heroines of the game.

Sumire
Developer: Nekoneko Soft

he story focuses on “Ken-chan”, the protagonist who uses this online handle in a social network known as Galge Gakuen, a place for lovers of galge, games that feature bishoujo/pretty girl characters. While he was more interested in online games and galge in the past, his interest has waned greatly as he got older.

Nevertheless, he still logs in to talk to his net friends, Tae and Pink. While they used to talk only about things like galge, as he gets closer to them, they begin to talk like close friends would but only do so online as it’s considered taboo to inquire about their real selves.

But a chance encounter with another denizen of Galge Gakuen in real life leads to the four of them meeting each other in real life and thus begins their story.

Sumire is a visual novel by Nekoneko Soft and was released as a 15th anniversary project for the company and pays homage to their earlier titles. Famous for their Narcissu series, fans of their work will definitely enjoy this title which celebrates an illustrious run as a game developer.

>> No.19065131

>>19065084
Considering it's SP and they have all that kickstarter and nekopara money, I was expecting some new visual novels from 2017/2018 but this is kinda lame.

>> No.19065154

>>19065131
Maybe they're saving their bigger titles for AX too.

Not saying Mangagamer aren't worth keeping track of. But >>19064736 always made sense as one picture since Sekai and Denpa are literally one and the same.
Mangagamer aren't part of Sekai or Denpa however, nor are Sekai or Denpa part of Mangagamer. So >>19064876, >>19064966 could probably do with some work. Or simply being split into separate images.
Or just stay the same because I doubt many people care.

>> No.19065331

>>19065127
Sumire is a full length title, even if it isn't exactly the best title out there. Sekai getting a Nekoneko Soft partnership is interesting, especially since Dovac has previously said that he really wished to work on Scarlett.

>>19065154
Last Year Sekai held off announcing pretty much anything meaningful until AX.

>> No.19065451

>>19065127
>Nekoneko soft
Not too surprising since they spawned off from stage nana. As for notable titles from them, Lamune got an anime once upon a time, and Sanarara is an eroge drawn by Ume Aoki.

Humorously, their newest title happens to be a loli eroge. That would probably sell well because of loli by default, though I doubt Sekai has the guts to release it uncensored.

>>19065191
I don't really mind since they did say that only Denpasoft was part of Sekai, not MG.

Funnily enough, JAST doesn't have that many titles in TL hell, if only because they don't announce that many titles in one year. Nonetheless, they are probably worth adding to the chart if only because of how long some of their titles have been in TL hell.

>> No.19065882

During the Q&A, Sekai confirmed that the KoiKuma's delay was because it was changed at the last minute from being a purely Denpasoft to a Steam+Denpasoft release, and it needs to wait on some new content from the developers for the Steam version where the old scenes were and they also said they still need to integrate the Chinese language version. They did say it would be released this year.

>> No.19066044

>>19064966
Could there be one that is typed instead of when it was announced and year. Then put TBA? Because MG did announce these titles like a year or two ago if I remember which is recent. I know Sekai's backlog is basically 5 years old or even 3.

>> No.19066054

>>19065131
>>19065154
Correct.

>> No.19066553

>>19066044
To be fair, MG announced Bokuten in March 2014. Sekai hasn't had anything in their backlog for so long (Tenshin Ranman is 2015 and the WEE console editions were promised 2014) though that's more because of Bokuten being older than Sekai's first VN kickstarter than anything.

>> No.19066669

>>19066553
hasn't bokuten been like a total nightmare to work on due to a ridiculous amount of technical issues?

>> No.19066732

>>19066669
There have been a series of issues. First the translation of it was put on hold so that the translator could work on eden* and Supipara's first chapter, because they wanted to get the minori fundraiser going. After that it needed ported. But then they announced it was also getting a Steam release, so they had to create a version that Steam would accept. But then relaxed their standards on MG, so they had to create an adult patchable version. There's also likely other things.

All of that and the fact that it's a low priority VN that is stuck on Doddler's backlog. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't released this year either. At least the trouble isn't legality related unlike Suki Suki.

No it's more like they planned to have doddler port it originally, then he had a whole load of shit to do so they made arrangements to have some other mysterious party do it. Then after a year or so that fell through, so it's back to doddler porting it... someday.

>so it's back to doddler porting it... someday
It isn't even being ported any more and will be using the original engine now. They dropped that plan late last year.
