This is weird, cResele pet died to Psychic Wave. It also completely ignored mana shield, it seems.

I decided to start playing again after almost four years. My old character was level 59 and I've forgotten most of the basics, so I decided to retire them after nutting a dozen times inside Mia the Cat Freak. Decided not to reroll the background before I went through creation and the game gave me this, it's almost too fitting. Rest in Peace Beryl and the Mia I painstakingly raised.

What's the deal with these new feats? I don't see anything about 'em on the wiki. I remember knockout as a skill but what's the deal with independent, magic eye, mount bond, and magical plant knowledge?

From what I recall, herb in boosts a foods natural stat boosts. Since curaria boosts all stats, that's the go to herb in food. I would presume that blessed has some small bonus to how much it gives, if not as great as the act of applying herb in. It's equal parts convenience and possible further boosted stats to bless the curarias you're using as the food to me.

The only problem I can see with blessed food is that it fills you up more, so you could potentially eat more if you didn't use the blessed curarias as base, but I get hungry in game a lot anyway, since fishing and casting spells eats up your satiation pretty quickly.

Well, you miss out millions of stat exp for your pets due to 'yeah, no sharing', even shopkeeper can benefit from it if you play solo. After double-checking info, you get 800xp for herb'in, pets get 10x food exp.
Curaria may be better than say, acorns, but vegetables/fruits from your farm still give more exp overall when cooked.
Personally, i keep one fruit and one veggie farm to stock up on food when i return home.

If you got feats to spare (Shift+F I believe?) you may want to get knock-out skill, that makes catching pets easier. It's like pokemon when they're low health you throw a ball, if ball level is equal or higher of monster you capture eat and then can use(t) ball to get monster into your party.
Evolution comes a bit later, u need to get monster to soul mate realtionship and have evoultion hearts(there are different kinds of hearts you can search at wiki).
After taming it you may want to get gene engineering skill and use gene engineering machine to give the pet additional limbs and skills from other monsters. Dragon child starts with only a handful of limbs and skills so you may want to give him all 13 body parts and most of the skills. Also if you get pet to soul mate level you can marry(gender of pet doesn't matter) every marriage gives you a bunch of presents and a potion of cure corruption I believe

What you want to do is use your living weapons until they're ready to level up and then use it as a 't'ool to gain a level. I usually just stack elemental damage and resistances, but if it doesn't have anything you want, you can push shift to cancel and try leveling it again later. It seems that your options reset each month. The permanent +4 is potentially good, but make sure the item has already been raised to +15 with stardust beforehand, and make sure it's acidproof so you don't lose your enhancement.

Happy bed kept tossing that event which uncurses gear I think, 5x a night. Blocked other events as a result and gave less potential. Kings does the usual stuff which I prefer.

With blessed potion of restore body and blessed hero potion I had 63 str to jack it. Blessed hero potion is key, it gets a turn extension which allows the bed to be stolen then debuffs. 63 str clears base weight of a non-material bed by 1s.

Where does bonus damage come from in E+? My 120 STR character has +22 damage naked (or +20 with a weapon) and I cannot make any sense of where it comes from. Hero increases my STR by 40 yet it only increases my unarmed bonus by +5, or my weapon bonus by +1, so STR has some effect but not in any remotely intuitive fashion. STR also seems to affect the multiplier more when you have a weapon as equipping one, yet somehow my bonus when wielding weapons is almost the same as when unarmed with 120 base STR.

The wiki doesn't even say anything whatsoever about character growth affecting bonus damage, only multipliers.

It's only scrolls of faith. I think the tears you get from the quest are some of the better ones, but I'm not too well versed in minmaxing or fusion. Gravity sphere, magic damage, and absolute piercing are all pretty strong though.

Hmm.. does it heavily impact sleep? I remember observing all the crummy beds slept in. REALLY seemed like gold value determined how "good" the sleep was. I would always take say magnificent cheap bed over just cheap bed and did better for it. I saw a magnificent cloth sleep sheep in shop, made it silk then got 19% potential regularly. Eastern Bed is like 2k gold and gives around 13%. The sheep was 3.5~4k after my mods I think. I've stuck with this thinking, any info would be great.

Attribute allows your unarmed attacks to deal elemental damage on top of your physical attack. Damage is stacking in other words. So in the logs you'll see your physical damage followed by a second number which is your attribute damage. That also means that if you can attack 8 times you'll see 8 log entries for your physical damage and on top of that 8 entries for your elemental damage.

Normally the element chosen for attribute is your highest resistance. However there is an item you can buy from Miral using small medals called Elements Eyes. This item allows you to choose which element you want to use for attribute regardless of your highest resist. So on the fly changing of your elemental damage with attribute/unarmed attacks is possible. Very useful in exploiting weaknesses or taking advantage of one made.

My only corruption is Heavy Carapace, no damage muts whatsoever. There's clearly some kind of natural scaling on melee bonus damage, and skills as far as I can tell don't have much of an effect on it. Here's a comparison with a pet with vastly better melee skills than me (323 tactics versus my 43, 220 long sword versus my 21, 63 MA versus my 22). Also a baseline Younger Sister for comparison's sake.

The weapon is a simple 2d5+1 artifact saber with no real special attributes.

My best guess is that strength growth grants bonus damage, with a different formula for weapon vs unarmed, but there's either a bug or an intentional nerf reducing the effect of temporary strength via buffs because Hero doesn't have a remotely proportional effect for what it grants.

So this is the state of my pets right now. I am testing out different pets to see if I feel they are effective.

Titania and Yerles are pretty recent additions. Titania was surprisingly great and seems to be the strongest overall.

I actually obtained the Black Fairy 8 levels below the fire dragon, but overall she really kicks a lot of ass. If she evolves and can learn a self-healing spell then she would be completely insane.

The Fire Dragon was my first pet. He seems reasonably effective but I have noticed that overall ranged pets just seem more effective than melee.

The Void is excellent for getting AP even early, the early floors have the same weak critters you faced at the beginning of the game, except powered up by 50-something levels. They're still weak because of their base types, so are a prime target for beating on for levels/living weapon leveling/AP/pet training. Being able to instantly return to the Void is also very helpful. Just don't go too deep or you will get pounded into dust by e.g. casters/bombs/crush ground users. Later when you're tougher, the same applies when you reach floor 200. From that floor, the monster selection restarts from putits and so on, but their levels will be multiplied by 5x(base level+50). As long as you stay around there, you can gain huge amounts of exp and AP relatively safely. If you go deeper than that though, it starts getting really crazy considering the level calculation (a Nyarlathotep who would normally be level 180 would be Lv1150 with inner-god tier stats to match)

I have finally watched Kai's first video. I would have done some things very differently. He didn't do some stuff such as taking/organizing the items in the cave at the start, taking the tutorial from Lomias up to the part with the putits or at least told them to leave to get some furniture, talking to every important NPC to start quests even if not doing them immediately, killing every beggar, farmer and noble, bashing trees for fruit or taking edible items he saw in the wilderness. He also didn't sleep as often as he could, kept walking around for a long time while Burdened!, and he didn't identify anything even with an inventory full of possibly good stuff. He ate a ration while in the Cyber Dome instead of a cyber snack and asked for meals from the inkeeper instead of eating the breads around him. He also doesn't seem to like item quests. At one time in Palmia there was a quest for raw noodles and another for a sun crystal, both of which he could have bought easily. If he did every easy item quest like that he could already have learned his first skill in the first video. Also I don't like how he pauses to let the viewer read or while explaining things. I'd rather he just play normally. It's not like there are so many captions that he has to wait while playing to fit all of them. I get that he was rushing everything due to the recording, but those things bug me out.

From my experience, Elona is crash happy garbage. Instead of raging over it I simply enable savescumming in E+C Tweak's ESC menu. I have crashed at the quest board, entering a shop, speaking to an NPC, opening a trade... list can go on endlessly... So whenever I have done something time intensive, or a nice drop/thing happens, I save, F1 and F2 are your friend. Life's too short to get hung up on that shit. I can't stand taking time to sort my inventory just to see the game crash because I opened the drop menu or chose to pick something up in my stashhouse. Happens too often. Though some days I could play 8+ hours with no crashes. HSP a shit.

Excellent for anyone, practically VITAL to snail. You get like 19 Lvs of free Weight Lifting. You get free Riding, you have excellent CHA (11 on a snail is nice, and needed...). Preformer is good money once you get past the rocks thrown at you. Magic Device/Memorization/Literacy lets you break into spellcasting, even if you don't main them. If you put in effort they can support any style. Jeweler lets you make scrolls... access to those is very important... and later on used in Pot for Fusion. Brilliant diamond/ruby/etc, Jewelery is all over Pot for Fusion recipes. It is a great base to start on and your free skill at character creation lets you set yourself down the path you want.

I normally keep myself burdened out of habit because the idea will be to train weight lifting and the appropriate attribute keyed to it. Early on identifying everything is expensive so I'm looking to only use it when there's something very important to identify or worthwhile. Also old habit of training sense quality.

idk, maybe it's because I prefer wizard/warmage, but I don't see pianists starting bonuses that big. I haven't played snail, and from my try, you still need to feed skill points into performance before you even start getting returns. I also get conflicting information on classes (never had that hard start that's attributed to wizards, for example) and only have about 120 hrs in Elona total, so take that as you want.
