I can't say why or what I don't like about them but there is something in all of them that seems wrong.

It varies from person to person. Lots of people rename their dolls or buy dolls of existing characters just to customize/turn into a different character while others often do like the existing character or name and keep it. It's your doll, so you do whatever you want and call her whatever you like. Personally I usually rename them unless I like the existing character.

Barbie has changed measurements many times throughout the years, so honestly, it's a maybe. Like >>19087967 mentioned, everything in the Sanrio collection fits. Pure Neemo has a thicker waist and smaller bust than Barbie, so those very first outfits from when Barbie's waist was tiny and her bust was huge won't work, but everything from the 80s on is a safe bet.

After brushing for two hours, her hair is still not right.

Thanks, I tend to get extremely critical of every last misplaced strand. Sometimes a part of one lock of hair will get mixed up with another, as sections of her wig are similar near the head but diverge in individual curls around the elbow area. As you sort them out, tons of stray hair pop up everywhere and when you're done putting them back in order... Some of the locks will have gotten mixed up again.

Thanks, we ended up using forced perspective and a lot of photoshopping to composite the various images, we were trying to make the books look smaller than they are. They still look really big, but not horribly comically big in my opinion.

Funny you mention that, my buddy and I both own the same Marisa DDS. I think we used mine in the shoot, and yes they're close in size. I wouldn't bet on clothes fitting right from one to the other, but the DDS is about 1cm taller if memory serves me.

Damn now I want to swap outfits between Marisa and Victorique.

Start with mooks like Dolly Dolly and Dollybird. Look up Dollybird free copy on Pinterest and you'll have scans for days. I personally prefer hand sewing over machine sewing. Use easy to work with fabrics, like a good quality cotton, over more difficult, slippery fabrics like chiffon for your first few projects.
