I found two things to be beneficial:

Writing out the entire table multiple times. You'll be able to visualize which position each of the characters should be in and then deduce what they are based on that. This is obviously not ideal for when you actually need to read shit, but you'll eventually not have to do it anymore anyways. I think writing them by hand is superior than using flash cards.

Second, use this https://djtguide.neocities.org/kana/index.html

You really don't need mnemonics to remember this shit and it's fine if you're having some issues remembering them after a week. You have many years of studying ahead of you so it's best not to get frustrated over things like that. You'll also get better at it once you start using anki and are able to associate the sound of each symbol with its use within a word if that makes sense.

It has normal difficulty. There is a bunch of historical terms that you just have to learn when you come across them. You'll meet occasionally some words in kanjis which you know like 兎に角, 雖も but they all have furigana. There are two scenes that have archaic grammar. Apart from that it maintains
normal difficulty steadily. Of course it's not the first or the second read, but when you know at least 10k words and have read 5-10 VNs prior to that, why not?

I'm about 400 words into 6k and been finishing up Sakubi, problem is I'm a brainlet and can only manage 10 new words a day. Because I've already learnt English and German through immersion mostly I'm considering just starting to read VNs right now so I can squeeze in more than 10 new words a day and having an easier time actually remembering them because I'll be able to create some other association with a word than some shitty example sentence.

Good idea? Or should I just keep up with my 10 new words a day until I hit 1k or something before I start reading?

Can anyone into Japanese linguistics explain 同じく to me?

This く adverbial form usually arises from an i-adjective (e.g. 美味しい > 美味しく), but my understanding is that 同じ is a noun, so I don't get where this 'く-form' comes from.

Also, are there any good online resources (English or Japanese) where one can learn about Japanese linguistics.

ず, づ are pronounced either [dzu] or [zu].
じ, ぢ are pronounced either [dʑi] or [ʑi].

How do i know if the Zu in the word is written づ or ずwhen they're both Zu

How do i know if the Zi in the word is written じ or ぢ when they both mean Zi

well those sounds dont come at the beginning of a word and you dont really have to worry about ぢ at all

like theres no way to confuse the づ in 片付き and youll see つ become づ in like suffixes and other compounds and shit

す is always su. If you were asked to draw a su and す was marked as a mistake, you maybe fucked up drawing it. And つ is always つ.
However, ず and づ share the same sound. But they are different characters. Just like in English, 'c' and 'k' are different characters, but in some words 'c' sounds like 'k', while in other words it sounds like 'ch', and so on.

This guy spent an absurd amount of time on rtk, completely missing the point. I don't think rtk is worth doing for most people, but it isn't worth it for ANYONE if you're going to do fucking 4 characters a day. I cant be bothered to watch through this entire video because it's incredibly obnoxious, but I do have to ask, how do people even manage to destroy books as much as this guy has destroyed his copy of rtk? I'm not even particularly careful with my books and I've never had anything end up in as bad a shape as that one is.

maybe he bought it used or just daily rigours of putting it in a backpack with other things or something also i caved and seeked through the vid and hes literally looking at shit and identifying the kanji by his heisig codewords and has no idea what a lot of things are big surprise

He throws it at the ceiling at one point in the video, it shows you how little care he takes of his possessions.
