Servants are 100% a secondary magnet, and FGO explores them as a concept and milks their "cool value", while completely ignoring everything that made them work in a larger universe that wasn't focused on Servants. They are easy to mass produce, and convenient for a shitty gacha game. They were never the main appeal of Type-Moon, so it's not surprising that the vast majority of FGO's player base is completely new. This Servant focus attracts people who would otherwise want nothing to do with what Nasu's works are actually about.

That's a pretty bad comparison, because while it was a concession it was a pretty small one at that, porn makes up less than 3% of the script in either Tsukihime or F/SN. There were also very few CG actually dedicated to pornography. It's very light pandering by comparison to practically everything they do these days. A season of Kaleid has more otaku pandering than everything that Nasu has written for VNs put together, and then some.

So. Bomb goes off, everything's fucked, Protag, Mash, and Olga go back in time, bunch of action happens, Not-Lev appears. Reveals Olga died in the explosion, this is her soul/spirit/ghost, then right afterwards she's tossed into CHALDEAS and effectively removed from the plot.
The ghost reveal. Why? For what purpose? She could have just as easily survived the explosion then died here. Hell, that would have been much simpler. Why bother with the "you were dead the whole time!" twist if this is a character's last scene anyway? In storytelling terms that's suspicious as hell.

I'm extremely surprised you checked stuff and didn't run into that spoiler. That Doctor Roman is King Solomon, the first Servant Chaldea Summoned, and the true winner of the Holy Grail War in Fuyuki with Olga's father as his Master. Their Grail was not tainted, and the wish made was for a second human life. Flauros fuck up was spectacularly big because he didn't neutralize the only one being who could stop them.

The people who say that are usually secondaries but yeah, it's very good. One of the best looking TV anime when it came out, and competently directed. It's by a different author so don't expect the same style, but it does a fine job as a prequel to F/SN.

Isn't that the case with most TM translations? For such a popular series it's still surprising to me how many of the translations are utter garbage. F/SN and Tsukihime translations read like embarrassing pieces of middle-school writing in terms of their English.

It was done before the Remake, which is how I knew it looked cool. I still think that nuAkiha's colors are vastly inferior, though. The new outfit is so drab and boring - like a generic peasant's idea of what a "rich girl" would look like. Of course they had to do something different - I imagine Nasu or Takeuchi were bothered that Akiha wore red despite hating the color, but the new outfit is just a black and white variant of Artoria's. And the new school uniform, while having some more unique colors, just isn't as good as the old white/blue one.

Even if a miracle happens and the remake gets released, I doubt it would be as good as the original. Nasu barely gives a shit about his universe anymore and as a result his writing deteriorated. Fate/EXTRA sequels like Extella and Extella Link are now written by someone else other than Nasu. Fate/Strange Fake is not supervised by Nasu at all, he doesn't even care about it. It's funny how this guy changed so much in 10 years, back then he supervised Zero and tried to make it match to Fate lore, but now he doesn't give a shit about anything and his excuse is "multiple timelines lol just don't think about it". Just look at Last Encore for example, even if Shaft is hugely at fault for the awful product we got, Nasu also takes some blame since the entire script was written by him, and Last Encore's biggest problems were the story and pacing. It's time to let go of the remake and accept the fact that a previously good writer has lost his touch.

I'm fine with new content, F/SF is great however everything else has been hit or miss for me ever since CCC, especially with GO lately. The latest content for FGO, Anastasia was around the lower to middle end GO for me, compared to previous first chapters it wasn't as good as Shinjuku but it was better in Orleans.
