There's no specific build style, you just create your character however it works for you. Melee combat? Combat mastery+critical hit, with optional smash, counterattack, and/or windmill depending on play style. Ranged? Well, you can go archer, single magic focus, multimagic, two magic+archery, etc. Just mix 'n match to see what works for you. You can always buy a rebirth card once it goes live to start over but keep your old skills+items.

You can get to Level 23 without grinding if you have a good reliable attack plan (use your melee attack/ranged attack/magic attack, set up Counterattack and stay flexible) just with the hunting quests.

After that you run out of quests entirely except for 'Travel to Bangor' which as we all know is still sealed. I haven't played in a couple days, I'll come back when Bangor is open.

I find the fairy is unhelpful in some aspects too. I had to look up, more specifically, how all of the stats operate and how wounds and camping penalty work. Wounds reduce your max HP until you die, rest in front of a fire, get bandaged, or receive treatment from a healer. These small things are pretty useful to know.

I think the lucky title you can earn in around the same amount of time as the bear title is just as good, but I agree that starting at 17 might not be the best idea. It's what I did. I hear you get AP for aging (1 year per week, saturdays). I think it is less AP depending on how old you are. You get like, 5 AP for 10-11 and around 1 AP from 24-25.

I tried to kill a bear at level 6 to get that title. It killed me in two hits.

the game is sorta gimped that you can kill almost any melee enemy as long as you get the counter a bash at the right time.
