Wikipedia says yes. I don't know what one would do to Yamato though; they're still in use so I don't know if you can find anything but guesses for the warhead's design or what it's yield is. I do know something like a HEAT round the size of a harpoon could easily rip Yamato's belt armor to shreds though. Hell, the more powerful shoulder launched and tank fired HEAT rounds are rated to penetrate steel up to double Yamato's belt armor.

The op thing about them isn't so much their power though, it's how convenient they are. You can launch your entire battery of them from 100 miles out and know they're more or less guaranteed to all hit the target, at least against a WW2 era ship.

Shinano was in a state of incompleteness(which means she couldn't go at her full speed or had watertight compartments. Both would have decreased the submarine threat).
Her damage control equipment was incomplete and apparently could not be used at all so they had to pump manually.

At least two of her desDiv 17 escorts(Isokaze, Hamakaze, and Yukikaze) did not have properly working detection equipment(sonar, radar.
Urakaze(the leader of Desdiv 17) was lost due to Sealion thus DesDiv 17 had no leader. This of course really hampered their effectiveness as escorts and a fighting squadron.
Yamato class hulls were too heavy even for two destroyers to tow back. Probably should have had a tugboat.
Yamato class Battleships were like Mazes and the very green crew would need a year to be used to her. The fact she was a reconstruction into a carrier probably did not help matters.
On Archerfish's part the torpedoes hit at a good angle and at the approximately the correct depth which compounded the problems.
Lastly the materials used for her might have been of questionable quality for anyone's standards.

Think of it this way. They had 6 CVEs with 28 aircraft each, or 168 planes, or a bit less than 2 Essex-class carriers. They were equipped only for ASW and CAS, but the fact is, a surface fleet with no carrier support will have trouble even with that unless they have Allies-tier AA, which the Japanese did not.

If it had been 2 Essex-class carriers instead of a bunch of little CVEs no one would be surprised at the outcome, but the number makes up for the size differential and any bombs, even HE, are better than none.

What's embarrassing is that they got held up by 3 DDs and 4 DEs. They, in theory, should have been able to easily dispatch them and gun down the little CVEs. The escorts bought so much time that the planes were able to sink 3 CAs without any anti-ship weapons through continual bombardment. There's no excuse for that - you can't even make a Hiei-level excuse; it was broad daylight and the Japanese had 11 of their own destroyers as screens. Even if the planes had been able to sink those three cruisers anyway, the entire escort screen should have been obliterated simply due to how fragile they were. Yet they only sunk two CVEs (one from Kamikaze), two destroyers and one frigate, and somehow lost more men despite having heavily armoured ships.

The US and UK had far larger economies. Without the treaty they could have out-built Japan into irrelevance. Japan needed the treaty more than either since they would have been the first to lose an arms race if it happened, so they had less power in the negotiations.
What most in Japan wanted, equal navy sizes, would have forced artificial parity between the 3, which would have meant the treaty benefited Japan WAY more than it did the Anglos. The US and UK were never going to agree to that.
In the end Japan accepted 3-5-5 because it still benefited them. It prevented the arms race, which would have hit them hardest, and it actually guaranteed them local naval superiority in the Pacific since they could concentrate force while the Anglos had to split theirs over 2 or more oceans.
Unfortunately there were a lot of leaders in Japan with pride bigger than their brains and eventually their bitching won out. Them thinking they deserved naval parity with countries with more than double their economic strength was pure fucking arrogance, and betrayed complete lack of understanding of politics and diplomacy.
