Awesome bgm.

But anyway, how could Battler still deny that witches exist when he had been to purgatory, seen beatrice disappear and reappear and getting revived repeatedly after getting killed by the sisters?

Judging from the amount of well planned "NO U"s in those battles. I dont think its well out of The Beatrices potential to beat a servant easily.

Or fuck, just imagine summoning Beatrice as a Caster. I'd give her mana if you know what I mean. By the way...

Does the former Beatrice even have,arms...? I mean uh,we never see them and I dont think its ever stated that she uses them.

That's because even if you taker that purgatory litterally it only happens in the afterlife. What Battler is denying is that witches exist in the real world.

Plus! Only Meta-Battler has been in purgatory, but not the versions of Battler that are going through the different scenarios. They sync to a certain extent (mostly on feelings) and meta-Battler tends to be aware of what plot-Battler's thinking, but even that's limited (I don't eactly remember when that happens but there's a point in EP2 where Meta-Battler says he has no idea what Battler's talking about, I think it's when Battler explains where the fifth master key is), and the reverse is not true, plot-Battler doesn't know what meta-battler knows.

Plus there's some weird warped cause-and-effect dependency going there. Meta-battler exists because it's not proven the witch can't make him go through purgatory. But if Battler proves the witch doesn't exist then obviously a non-existent witch can't bring him to purgatory and the loop will not occur.

I wonder if he'll claim he's the culprit in the end. He'd end up imprisoned or executed but at least it'd provide a solution where neither the witch nor the other guests are guilty.

Fufufufufu. I counter your argument with the Devil's Proof. How can you be sure that she ate ALL the cats? It's impossible to prove that all the cats are gone since x amount might be hiding in a dark corner in some unknown part of the world. Or even on another planet consisting entirely of cats!

In other words, the Schrodinger's cat hypothesis still stands. Multiple truths is still possible! However! I'll definitely proof that my truth is the real truth!

>> No.1881794

Well, I find the loop structure of Umineko very compelling, and also all the tricks generated by the unreliable narrators. The fact is, Battler's fighting against a narrative, a story personified by the witch, to validate his own idea of the story. It's an embodiment of net speculation on Battler's side versus the cackling misleading author on Beato's side, with her open invitation to solve the mystery mirroring that of the author, and that's very amusing. It's, in itself, a novel with no interactivity but clearly aimed at making a game out of the fanbase discussions, even specifying rules for it (the colored text and what victory conditions for each side we know at this point).

SnU, on the other hand, is much more straightforward and focuses intensely on telling a story instead of reveling in trickery and mysteries like Umineko.

So they really appeal to different audiences, and though they overlap, the kind of storytelling you prefer will ultimately define which one is best for you.

SnU has writing quality and it's made by Nitro+ which is undoubtedly the best visual novel company out there.

Umineko is a doujin game, which is pretty good at it per se, but it's still a simple doujin game. And Ryukishi07 is like Nasu but with more writing ability and less pseudo drama bullshit.

Comparing SnU with Umineko is like comparing Metal Gear Solid 4 with Splinter Cell, it's not even fair.

Hempel's raven isn't about realities undefined until proven though, it's about underlining the problems with using inductive logic (ie intuitive generalizations) as proof. In Umineko's mentions of the devil's proof we actually already get to know Beato doesn't accept inductive logic, she sticks to elementary logic where there's no hypothetical truths like Hempel's Raven.

This feature was in Episode 1 (game) already. To unlock it, you must finish completely the latest episode in the said game, Tea party and Ura Tea party included.

Therefore, for episode 3, you need to finish ura tea party 3 to unlock it.
