That's the setup. Nazrin notes that even with all this it's very possible she won't be able to beat Yuugi, but the training is more about doing everything she can or else it will just feel like she didn't try hard enough.
The interesting thing now is that because this was explained outright there could be a subversion.

The training seems to mainly have made her more skilled and given her ultra instinct, but she already was outskilling Yuugi hard before (and it didn't matter because she doesn't put a dent in her).

That's a good start, thanks a lot. That should make the jib easier for anyone wanting to proofread (or starting its own translation). I think Touhousubs should begin working on them sooner or later anyway. If you take Burning Meiling 6-1 for instance, subs were submitted only a few weeks later.

Individual subs can be used with any media player once you downloaded your video off Youtube or Nico Nico Douga. You play your video and then load your subs (SSA, ASS, SRT, whatever).
Otherwise editing subs can be done with something called Aegisub for instance. Much better usability (more functions, spell check, timing delay, etc.) than just using notepad.

K-16 is a good MMDer herself, but I prefer Asatoshi's style in both camera work and movement. Though that might be unfair since K-16 doesn't have as much leeway to go spectacular with both in his fight scenes, since it has to be realistic.

He does a good job of building up the hype for the fight scenes in just the length of one episode. I loved Raiko's fight.

Added my translations to the original video. They are currently on review or something. More or less that. It pretty much depends on what people are after. In Asatoshi's case, all his tracings (when he actually trace) are cleverly integrated to fit into his story. Also, good writers are becoming pretty rare and a good story leaves a much striking impression to viewers than pure tracing or simple reproduction videos I presume. It helps in building a universe, making the characters endearing and take part in their experience. I bet K-16 isn't that much of a good writer and focuses on what he does best. It's perfect for those specifically after that kind of thing, but less for those looking for something a bit more creative.

True, but one thing that Burning Meiling does (that I quite like) is it plays things pretty much how you'd expect them to, but makes the fights compelling on the way. An untrained Mokou gets decimated, a military trained Udonge fights well but loses decisively, Meiling loses in sword combat to a Youmu who trained her entire life in sword combat, Meiling loses decisively to Yuugi. Despite these all pretty much going as expected, the fights are really fun to watch. I found myself rooting pretty hard for Youmu despite Meiling being the protagonist because I thought it would have been a bit unfitting for Meiling to win given Remilia's conditions.

I've really enjoyed Meiling's journey and win or lose I think it's been a good story for her. I think I would prefer her fighting well but losing and being able to accept that to her finding some way to beat Yuugi, but I have faith it'll be a good watch either way.
