It seems more fitting to ask here than in the usual OC threads. How do I draw bodies? I don't even know where to begin with them, construction wise. Heads are easy because they're just a circle, but what do you do about bodies? Are there any good references for this sort of thing? I don't know where to start.

It's annoying because as long as I can't draw bodies I can't draw hands/arms on a human figure either.

I'm fucking awful at bodies but the general method that got me from "actual toddler" to "dogshit" was picking out unique parts of the body and getting their position an orientation right. If you can put down (as cylinders) the ribcage, pelvis, legs, and arms (slap on a head somewhere) then you have the basic structure of a body. Of course, if you can't draw cylinders in arbitrary orientations, this isn't going to work, so work on that.

Then grind quickposes or something and extract those parts from the poses you see.

I've been coloring the Suwako lineart in >>18608881 using the filling tool over and over, so I felt like trying my hand on drawing a 2d girl from scratch but I can't get anywhere. How many times do I have to fill in the Suwako lineart before i can draw lineart of the same quality myself?

No. Mouse is completely different from literally every other drawing tool. It was never intended for drawing. Learning how to draw with a mouse will only help you to learn how to draw with a mouse. And the only realistic way you'll be able to draw lineart of similar quality is by utilizing vector drawing.

Why don't you just save them? I have trash drawings from like 15 years ago still stashed away in containers under my bed waiting to be taken out and perhaps redrawn one day. I even saved notebooks I used for doodling during uni classes. A few images, I even re-doodled in marginally higher quality because they were faded and/or tearing. I only really throw away pages of practice stuff.

I feel the same way with my art too. I like looking at old stuff I did, even if its shitty. It sometimes feel like I was more creative in the past when I was just drawing for drawing's sake instead of trying to draw properly. I'm not at all sure what's going on with the crotch region there, especially the striped part. Also, I advise you to change the gastrocnemius part of the lower leg back. I don't think it can look so flat from this angle and with this much strain applied.
Thirdly, I suggest making the shape of the foot closer to the redline. At the very least, the fabric of a sock doesn't follow the shape of a toe so extremely, unless it's a bit too small or it's made from latex.

By the way, those whitened-out lines over the sole are but mere shading/coloring guides that ought to be removed after you color that part accordingly.

P.S. I don't like Clownpiece, but daaaaayum, the thigh coloring already looks delicious. I wonder what will it look like when you finish shading it.

I'm not any of them but I only ever saw what they saw for a fraction of a second and then was unable to see it again in the uncolored version. In the colored version, it absolutely doesn't exist. Yuugi's right arm intersects with Suika's right leg in a weird way now though. Make it so you can't see the hands or feet and you'll see what I mean.

The upper body specially the torso and upper arms are really tricky.I have similar problems with the upper body(and almost the rest of the body).I don't like his videos always, but I suggest you to watch a video from sycra dedicated to this topic and also to search for multible references of female torsos and also a sceleton model so you can improve your visual libary more.

You can't really rely on what I said since I never really took art lessons. So this could be a bad or good advice.

What I did was draw the ideal pose with basic shapes, ignoring all the proportions.
When you managed to get the pose you want, "slightly" change the shapes into body parts. Once again, ignore the proportions.
Then you sit back and look at your drawing to check if anything felt off. If any body parts seems to be weird, just fix it by referencing your body or some photos you found online.
However, don't fully copy the reference, just use it to ensure the shape of your drawing was right.

Proportion comes later when you are slightly more confident with drawing bodies or when you want to develop your own drawing style.

Did a few things.

Googled "how to draw vagina" to attempt crotch fix. (Urgh)
Made the back of the leg slightly thicker.
Shaped the feet even further and adjust the toes, although I might still need to fix it.
