I went, it's not too hard if you go to the Hakurei Shrine on our side and just wander around in the woods out back until you get lost. The food was alright, not much seafood even though it's Japanese. I had a hard time getting around, there are no buses, trains, or roads even so I had to walk everywhere. A little girl tried to eat me, but she must have been blind or something because she kept running into trees and falling over. The hotel was awful, no running water, no electricity, no Wi-Fi,and the walls were so thin I could hear everything in the other rooms. The scenery and sightseeing is amazing, it's like going back in time to the mid 19th century of Japan. Nobody I met spoke English, so you better be well-versed in late-Edo period Japanese. Overall I wouldn't recommend it unless you can get a ride and have somebody to stay with because of how shitty the hotel was. If you want to visit a shrine, I recommend the Moriya Shrine as they actually care about visitors, unlike the Hakurei Shrine where I was completely ignored.
