Step up mode is basically practice mode, you get three stages guaranteed, and all the songs are around your skill level.
Class/段位認定 mode lets you play courses to measure your skill, and your rank determines certain things such as what songs you can play on stage 1 and 2 or what difficulty songs you get in step up
Free mode gives you two stages guaranteed with no difficulty limits (three stages if there's two players)
Premium free lets you play any amount of songs for a certain amount of time, you can only pay with Paseli though so JP/data only.
Expert gives you four song courses to play, not much reason to play this other than to grind unlocks.

That's me playing, yes. I had the impression that 8B wasn't significantly harder than 6B. Or rather, there are quite a few songs whose 6B maps are the hardest.

Is playing 4B is mistake? It's fun and I can actually play much harder songs, but I feel like getting too used to it makes it harder for me to improve using the 6B an 8B schemes.

>> No.18730022

Beginning today, I'm going to quit playing every music game, but Osu.

With Osu, the music selection is as wide as you want it to be through downloading charts. However, with other music games, they are limited by licenses meaning that the Japanese version of certain music games will have songs that the US versions don't.

The community in other music games is filled with degenerates that cause drama and thrive off it whereas all Osu players want to do is play the game and spam XD. Other music game players also care more about their scores and e-peen than they do about the people in said community. However, It's a good time all around when you're around the Osu community since they like sharing their charts with one another and give constructive feedback with them.

Also, the gameplay in Osu is fun since you can choose a few ways of playing it and with the default game, hearing the sound of hitting notes is incredibly satisfying. With other music games however, you don't get as satisfied with hitting the notes since they rarely make a sound when you hit notes.

I want to thank everyone who became friends with me in the arcade music game community especially those who were very understanding when I mentioned this to them. I hope everyone who reads this will understand how I feel in the matter.

>CS Empress has more songs than Respect
The base Respect has more songs that the Empress Disc and even the largest pop'n CS games. The DLCs are analogous to Premium Best. The only reason why the base game wasn't just DJMAX omnimix at launch is because PS4 has a cap on how large the size of a single download is allowed to be and Clazziquai would've kicked up the price to $70 USD instead of a modest $50 that gives a good bank for your buck.

>DJMax is based on O2Jam
DJMax Online's closed alpha was back in June 2004, 8 months before O2jam. I'm not sure if O2Jam had an earlier build made private or public because chronological information on music games that aren't Bemani is scarce or isn't available in English, which makes crediting songs to either Clazziquai/Black Square or Technika 1 unless you go through any and all videos available of Technika's location test or korean message board archives from mid-2008.

You would be lying to yourself if you insisted that this stuff actually has this much variety that literally anyone would differentiate by genre. Vocaloid is Vocaloid, and 90% of the songs in Project Diva games consist of very similar sounding jpop that at best has a few minor twists to its instrumentals to make it sound unique.

Not only that, but for a game that only has like 40 songs, there are a lot of repeating artists, like ryo, wowaka and livetune. And they generally stick to one style of music.

hit hard, but not like, just smashing the fucking keys, your keytaps should be quick and crisp

make sure your offset is good (hitting a pgreat makes the keytap noise line up pretty close with the beat of the music)

play simple stuff like normal 5s and 6s or maybe like chord 9s and 10s (crossroad, colorful cookie hyper, super rush hyper, etc.)

once you learn how to hit pgreats at all, you can expand that ability to a wider range of charts and techniques, but you have to learn how to actually make yourself hit a pgreat intentionally first.
