Well, there's at least two, who got scores of 176+ on JLPT N1. Both posted timestamped photos of their scorecard. I'm sure if you look hard enough you can find it in archives.
A high score on that test has some correlation with knowing Japanese.
We asked how they did it, both said they just read eroge for years.
I started dropping by here in late 2014 and I still haven't learned Japanese. But I haven't really put in the time or work; I've only read like 2 books.

Remember, Japanese people spend years upon years in constant exposure to Japanese before they get competent in the language (and no, children are not competent even if they are technically fluent). Wanna know a nasty fact? Japanese people can easily read a full novel in a day, even an afternoon. 40 novels? Can I ask what do people do to deepen their familiarity with kana in order to increase their reading speed? Do they write the kana with pen and paper repeatedly, or are there any special kana-oriented Anki decks besides basic ones? Considering how kana are usually found in sequences within Japanese sentences, just because able to near instantly recognize kana individually doesn't feel like it would do much to prepare a person to holistically and quickly comprehend sentences. I had the crazy-seeming idea of an autogenerated Anki deck with random sequences of 5-10 kana with a 1-second timer, but I'm not sure if that would even help.

It shows what your vocab are actually composed of, which is far more valuable than X number of random facts with no indication of what they are.
With that many kanji and at least a strong degree of familiarity with some of their readings via vocab, it would be surprising if the other anon who apparently has far more words had more kanji. In fact I'd assume he has less reading familiarity with kanji compared to you which is why it may be able to add far more words despite the difference in deck sizes.

Could you please post the full deck statistics? A time scale is important here and rate of added cards plus time spent on each card is important and helps fill in the larger picture.

My piece of advice would be to focus on your own and not others' progress. Just keep going at it regularly, no matter how slow or fast you learn and you'll be good.

Even people who do use sentences consider it a form mining. The point of mining is to practice shit you might remember running into on your own, and to practice shit that is actually the kind of shit that you are running into on a daily basis in the material that you are using. There's no use in learning that のに means "even though" if you don't understand where it's placed and which half of the statement takes priority. You need to adjust your new cards until you find the maximum amount you can handle, but despite some people throwing around set numbers like "10" or "50", nobody here can actually tell you what that amount is for you personally. Hey guys! こんにちはです。

So, I've been learning Japanese (Nihongo) for 3 years now... 1 year self study and 2 years in uni. And i feel like the kanjis are just not sticking with me. What should I try to memorize them for more then a week? I now about 100-120 kanjis already and can read basic material in romanji and a little bit in hiragana.

My current learning method:

Long story short, I stopped using Anki when I came to Japan, and it was 21 kinds of messed up from my long absence.
