Rune Factory is a lot easier than Island of Happiness
However IoH has a certain....appeal because of how the places you can access increases and the number of villagers you have also increases
Plus the villagers are more human like than in Rune Factory

Personally I don't really like Rune Factory 2, I classic farming to all this new fancy RPG crap

I might have enjoyed going back to the charm of classic farming, but it was kinda ruined by being forced to use really shitty controls that weren't suitable for farming at all and would clearly be less effective even when you get used to them. And it didn't help to lose my save due to a glitch right at the start either.

Rune Factory 2 has pretty lame characters when compared to first one.

I still need to beat the last dungeon in the first one. After I got married, I considered the game "won" since that's all I really cared about.

Rune Factory 2 was amazing. The 2 generation aspect was a bit gimmicky, but it worked. The entire time you play as Kyle, it really feels like you're making your way for your child. Only 1/4 of the game is open at that point, too.

Once you start out in the 2nd generation, there are huge bosses, monsters that will easily kill you in one hit, expanded dungeons, difficult/time consuming tasks to complete, and overall the difficulty instantly goes from an easy farming/JRPG game to balls in a vice grip. Honestly, I loved it, I'm sad now that I resurrected Kyle, killed the dragon that's bringing the apocolypse, and courted the loli twins. Nothing left to do but refight the bosses, raise more monsters and finish growing more crops.

4 Elemental dungeon bosses.
The "Final" Boss, the Fire Dragon.
Then the 4 shrine bosses.

Finally, you can repeat all 4 elemental dungeon bosses, and once you finish all Tanya's tasks, there's a secret boss where you fought the dragon.1

I married Dorothy. Cecilia and Julia were contenders, but Julia was a selfish cunt and Cecilia was kind of desperate.

Question though, does your wife ever leave the fucking house? I've been married to Dorothy for around 5 or 6 in-game days and she hasn't left her post by the side of our bed, and as a result, I had no one to go with to the dancing festival >.<

I used to love Harvest Moon, but I can't really play them anymore. Rune Factory 1 I didn't like either, but RF2 is pretty nice. Especially Generation 2.

He sacrificed himself to stop the end of the world, the apocalypse and rebirth of the planet. Since he couldn't use Dragon Break, he stood no chance. Once you kill it, he is returned to the Forest of Beginnings (aka: the afterlife), where you begin collecting even more ancient tablets to resurrect him.

Once he comes back, though, he basically stands in one place in your house, just like your wife/mom does. God dammit, I wanted to have some father/son tag team.

This game is fucking long. Is there even a play clock? I'm pretty sure I put in 30+ hours just getting to the second generation, and that's supposed to be more than half the game...

I think I ended up going with Mana, as I thought she was pretty moe. That line of dialogue about how she always fell out of bed was just adorable.

The loli twins are the best, out of every choice in either generation.

Also, if you choose Dorothy as your wife in generation 1, and you choose Cammy in generation 2, you're basically dating your aunt.

No, the monsters just got stronger. A lot stronger. The hardest thing you could fight as Kyle, at the end of the winter dungeon (2 stars now), is weaker than the weakest thing you can fight as your shota/loli offspring.

I realized how weak my father was, and was surprised how much praise Tanya, Barrett and the townsfolk gave him on his fighting skills.

The bosses got slowly more disappointing. The tree was a blast, it's pattern was interesting, and you could basically avoid it's attacks with skill and luck (until it became enraged).

Then the Octopus was awesome, but it was the exact opposite: too predictable once it's enraged.

The lizard and mammoth were just pathetically easy to figure out.

The dragon was also amazingly anti-climatic. A lot of HP, so you better stock up on healing items, but you'd be an idiot to get hit by him at all.

I also go to university, and for those consoles i had to work extra hours for being able to buy them, though i don't really use them that much.
