I posted this shortly after the Aizu camera was taken down and we decided to stick with the ones we have now. Maybe someone will find it interesting:

This is the Aizu Wakamatsu station,

This is where the camera used to face,

Looking the opposite way you can see the Yunokami onsen location on the distance, among the mountains.

Here you can see Aizu Wakamatsu station on the bottom and the path the trains make when going to the Yunokami onsen direction.

Heading out of the city.

The train lines go parallel to the roads up to a point.

Here you can see the roads on the right and the train lines going through some of the mountains on the left.

Here you can see the road and train lines meet again, and you can already recognize Yunokami onsen.

Here is the direction the camera is facing, looking on the direction of Aizu Wakamatsu.

And lastly, this is looking back at the Aizu Wakamatsu direction, it's somewhere there in the distance.

There used to be another one similar to the last one but it died a few months ago. There are other non-railway cameras with sound, but most of them either have music or are in a silent room which kind of defeats the point of having sound.

Most of the time you can find some comfy IP cams, the panasonicHD and Canon ones are pretty nice.

I come back to this stream every weekend after a workaholic blur of a week.

If there is beauty, it's seeing these tree blossoms and the surrounding greenery develop after a week of being away.

I have never seen this model on this line before. It's quite an odd model too as from the front it looks like an older type, but the side windows seem to be a modern style.

I have been watching random webcams off and on since 2004 and i have to say no other nation can even compete in comfyness.

I used to watch a camera in some mountain village outside Shizuoka back in 2012
It had a stunning view out over a valley below with tea farms on terraces on the mountain sides, cherry trees along the main road and a bench just below the camera that the old people used to come sit on for hours chatting with each other.

I checked out some templates, but decided there was no point to them. And would have really made me to write the code around them, which might have been good practice, but then again I am not trying to become an html pro from this experience. Also I have fixed the "hover over image, show name of the camera/place" thing, which I thought it worked for some reason even though it never did. Not super relevant, but it is a thing. By the way you can right-click -> view the images and they all open in 720p or so (though some streams can run at 1080p or even higher). I wonder if I should actually make them only thumbnail size so the page can load faster for slower internets or leave it like that.

Meanwhile I have a sort of a question. I would expect the camera list to eventually increase even more, so would at some point be appropriate to divide it into different sub-sections (maybe "train cameras", "land/townscape cameras" and "street cameras")? Or should it all remain one big page anyway?

I haven't visited this thread in a long time. I checked a few times here and there after the Aizu-Wakamatsu camera went down, but it just made me sad and still does. Has anyone else been in the same boat? I'd like to be able to have enthusiasm for a camera like that again.

Uncle Remus is only good for a few years. It's essentially welfare for white people and after the government cuts the last few programs for minorities they'll start going after whites. There's already new "means-testing" reforms in my country that only exist to make it difficult for uneducated people to claim job seekers benefits. Long term disability isn't far off.

I only prefer being a NEET because of my social anxiety and nervousness around other people. I'd much rather have lots of money so I could travel to Japan and see these trains in person rather than through a grainy web cam feed straight out of the Realplayer era.

You can't do these things on disability payments
