Not the OP, but these folks are, to put it simply, Japanese nationalists. Strongly opposed to Article 9 of the Constitution, prohibiting Japan from holding a military larger than a "peacekeeping" ("defense") force. This isn't surprising considering they're all fiercely Imperialistic, and consider several key Asian countries/territories to be rightfully part of the Japanese Empire.

They're also staunch traditionalists, taking great exception to things like LGBT rights, feminism, or gender equality of any kind -- they want that bitch to, quite literally, get back to the kitchen and make some tonkatsu. A few of them are pro-Third Reich ideology and/or actual Jewish Holocaust deniers, but most are opposed to the claims regarding Japanese crimes during the Pacific War, notably stuff that deals with comfort women, Japanese-run internment camps, or the Rape of Nanking. They either flat-out deny that these events ever happened, or claim that the history surrounding them is highly dubious. Additionally, (and this should really go without saying, but I'll say it anyway) they're all fervent racists, particularly pissy about the presence of Americans (or any Westerner), Chinese, and (especially) Koreans in "their" country. On that latter note, there's a long-standing rumor that many of them are actually second and third generation Korean immigrants themselves, a claim that they fervently deny. I have no idea how, or even if, such a thing has any truth to it.

All in all, they're probably the most prolific and dedicated of the so-called "shukenkaifuku" (uyokudantai?) groups, and are an actual recognized political party.

These people would have Japan back in the Edo period if they had any real power at all over the matter. In their minds, the stupid and highly romanticized version of feudal Japan that they see in television shows and campy theme parks (complete with samurai, geisha, steam trains, and a caste system) is an actual paradise. I respect their hustle but ultimately they come from a very authoritarian conservatism. The nationalism is great but the religious stuff, although I'm of strong Christian faith, is a little heavy-handed. Personal sovereignty is not observed in the the same way as the new conservatism taking place in the United States.

This is simply not true, Japan was one of the first Asian nations to be ''Westernized''.
Just because there are not many foreigners living there does not mean they're not multicultural.

If you look at which people are in it, is it more about "pork" than being nationalists.
